Ah I personally have never seen either in their entirety but I knew of the title and thought it was a funny play on the name I’d chosen for myself.

On some other platforms I’ve gone with TheFullMontague as well because I just think it’s a funny play on words.

I love that in most modern iterations of Les mis, Javert has a uniform with the parallel buttons and a greatcoat with the same buttons. Like why is he doubling up on hard to fasten garments?

actually (I think, anyone please correct me if I’m wrong) buttons were really popular on men’s clothing in this time period!! So I think it’s just what he had access to, which happened to be clothes with a lot of buttons

No you’re absolutely right! I just found it funny because the time jump from Toulon to Paris happens and he’s still wearing his uniform plus a big coat with the same design. It’s also quite funny to see that The Pirates of Penzance (set in England nearly a hundred years later than Les Mis) has the same designs for its police officers so it must just be general old times police gear to get people to recognise it onstage.
