Mayte Garcia: Can't Stop, Won't Stop (Lying about her marriage, trademarks and yet another charity!)
In case you haven’t heard, a few months back Mayte Garcia’s supporters flooded social media alleging that she was never removed as a board member for Love 4 One Another and became the principal officer upon Prince’s death. Here’s what a few of her “crusaders” had to say:
We took it upon ourselves to discover and examine the facts of the allegation so as to establish the truth. Mayte has registered the name of the charity with the Secretary of State, but not with the Minnesota Attorney General.
If you recall, Mayte did the same thing with her animal rescue. She insisted that her charity was legitimate even though she knew it was NOT registered with the California Attorney General. On account of the articles published by TheFunkSoldiers, Mayte had to register her charity and pay fines.
We also discovered that Mayte’s position as a board member for Love 4 One Another charities was temporary. In the Articles of Incorporation under section A of Article VIII, it states the Board of Directors for the corporation shall consist of 3 persons who shall serve until their successors are duly elected and qualified.

Side Note: A writer for InTouch responded to TheFunkSoldiers tweet about the charity. On February 18, 2018 we posted Love 4 One Another or Love 4 Money? All Tea, All Truth. She was advised to email our writers. Instead, Alex, editor -in- chief sent an email and was enthusiastic about this info. However, in a bizarre twist began to act like the evidence was incorrect. Dave, Mayte’s friend, later posted on social media that he connected with Alex to refute the claims and named Alex's source, which giving to Dave and Mayte goes against journalistic ethics. He basically shut the source down after speaking to Mayte and proceeded to no longer speak with interest to the source. He was nasty, cold and treated her as if she fabricated the info out of jealousy and a vendetta - the narrative Dave gave him that is not based on fact, but his own obsession with Mayte.
Finally, we obtained IRS tax returns from 2001-2007. Prince is listed as Director and Kirk Johnson as President. Mayte is NOT listed as a board member on the tax returns. *Tax returns for 2007 were filed in 2008, the same year Patrick Cousins took over. The charity was dissolved because Patrick Cousins failed to file tax returns.*
