There are people that live in LA? Wild
I have been informed people live in the entire state of California
But LA is Louisiana...

The Greek government has secretly expelled more than 1,000 refugees from Europe’s borders in recent months, sailing many of them to the edge of Greek territorial waters and then abandoning them in inflatable and sometimes overburdened life rafts.
Since March, at least 1,072 asylum seekers have been dropped at sea by Greek officials in at least 31 separate expulsions, according to an analysis of evidence by The New York Times from three independent watchdogs, two academic researchers and the Turkish Coast Guard.
Truly horrific
“You must find a way to get in the way and get in good trouble, necessary trouble. … You have a moral obligation, a mission and a mandate, when you leave here, to go out and seek justice for all. You can do it. You must do it.”
-John Lewis’ 2016 commencement address at Bates College
happy birthday breonna taylor. we’re all fighting for you too.
New Orleans Family Prayer
Loving and faithful God, through the years the people of our archdiocese have appreciated the prayers and love of Our Lady of Prompt Succor in times or war, disaster, epidemic and illness. We come to you, Father, with Mary our Mother, and ask you to help us in the battle of today against violence, murder and racism.
We implore you to give us your wisdom that we may build a community founded on the values of Jesus, which gives respect to the life and dignity of all people.
Bless parents that they may form their children in faith. Bless and protect our youth that they may be peacemakers of our time. Give consolation to those who have lost loved ones through violence.
Hear our prayer and give us the perseverance to be a voice for life and human dignity in our community.
We ask this through Christ our Lord. Our Lady of Prompt Succor, hasten to help us. Mother Henriette Delille, pray for us that we may be a holy family
Every day I am alive, I aim and will continue to aim to use my privilege to lift up the lives of others. You matter. I love you. Whoever you are. Wherever you are. You deserve to be listened to, truly heard, and treated with the deepest dignity.
I promise you I will keep striving until black lives truly matter to each and every person in this country and on this earth.
I will never forget standing on the steps of the Montgomery State House, at the exact spot where Jefferson Davis became the only Confederate President of the Divided States, and seeing the Dexter Avenue Baptist Church where Dr. King was the Pastor and organized the Montgomery Bus Boycotts. Reflecting on that moment gives me the hope that, as bad as where we are currently standing as a nation, we can still find that relentless hope in front of us that never ceases.
I made a very horrible quiz..... please take it so I can adjust it accordingly....Good luck
I want you all to suffer.
This quiz is hilarious lmao

Reflections on Distance
I was recently drawn to watching the Hunchback of Notre Dame while trapped indoors during this pandemic. I realized that this is likely the closest we will ever get to knowing Quasi’s perspective, and the music is so complex in its juxtapositions and interweaving. The most powerful example of this beautiful dichotomy is Quasimodo’s humble love for Esmeralda in Heaven’s Light and the monks’ chanting of the Confiteor, asking God for mercy, immediately contrasted against Frollo’s prideful lusting after Esmeralda in Hellfire.
On a personal level, I think I also saw in Quasimodo confirmation that I am capable of loving someone in a selfless, non-romantic manner without feeling a sense of loss or settling in any way. I really needed that message in this moment in my life.

some things are supposed to be painful or uncomfortable. like studying for a test, learning something new or confronting a personal fear. it hurts to suck at something, not understand a concept or feel that everyone is better than you. it’s hard to suddenly be productive when your old habits made you addicted to immediately gratifying things. it’s scary to do something you’ve been afraid of for most of your life or go somewhere you’ve never been before, whether this means choosing recovery, changing your thoughts or going to a new place. but growing isn’t supposed to be easy. keep going even when it feels uncomfortable because that’s when you know you’re on the right track. it will get easier and the end result will be amazing so don’t be discouraged.
The Holland Tunnel became the subject of a fervent petition to change which letters its holiday decorations should adorn. In what could be called a Christmas miracle, the Port Authority listened.
I’m so proud
There aren’t a lot of things we can all agree on, but Hans Zimmer’s killer score in The Prince of Egypt is transcendent and that’s just a fact
Buffalo, New York. The Horticulture Building and Temple of Music from the Pan American Exhibition, 1901.
The Temple of Music was the scene of President McKinley’s assassination on September 6, 1901. one of the few reminders that the fair ever existed is a small plaque about McKinley on the traffic median of a subdivision.
