why does everyone make liking taylor this MASSIVE moral failing like let’s direct this to people who fill up stadiums for chris brown and kanye west

sorry but making several “call out” posts implying the worst of taylor’s character, then demanding she use her platform to fight for artists’ right to fair compensation for their work so as to “further cement her positive reputation in this world” just reads as condescending, especially given a two minute google search would tell you how she has spoken out for the rights of artists with fewer resources and less negotiating power time and time again, see: a) the open letter she wrote to apple music in 2014, condemning its policy of not paying artists during a 3-month free trial period, b) when she removed her entire catalogue from spotify for three years in protest of its unfair payment practices, c) the clause in her 2018 contract with UMG mandating that any sale of their spotify shares would result in a distribution of money to their artists, non-recoupable, and the list goes on. she’s consistently leveraged her platform to shift industry standards, and it’s downright absurd and ignorant to suggest otherwise.
