There was a rage under her skin, the same feeling she felt when she was in the sky looking for the next human to kill. Like the calm before the storm only this time it was anger making her violent, not the desire to torture some poor soul. Hadley looked up a sneer forming on her face. She felt no familiar desire to calm down and think, all she wanted was payback for the slander put to her name.Â
“No” she breathed wishing she could fly again, scream into the sky and ask her brothers and sisters to join her in death and blood. Her eyes travelled between the building and Koyla, her chest still heaving with anger and energy.Â
“This isn’t some game, the things they have said” Hadley hissed the last part, her tongue stuck between her teeth. She wondered if she bit down hard enough that they would stop her, would they stop her if she took off her ring and broke free. Maybe then she could kill them all.
“I have killed me and I have killed women, bathed in their blood and made a throne from their bones. But they, they-” she couldn’t find the words to describe what they had done to her. Someone so innocent, so young. Even Hadley knew before she took her parents life that she was an innocent babe, one that could have been saved. Not now.
She shoved the paper at his chest turning away slightly to let him read the words. They might as well have branded her a child killer. Well they did.Â
