Eyyy. I'm alive and ready to get back to writing the spirit bab. I left in the middle of like a bunch of drafts, so just let me know if you guys would like to continue those. Or like the post for a starter, which everyone is free to do.
[ My apologies to everyone. I had to take a quick hiatus, but I should be back soon. Thank you for your patience! ]

So I managed to get over 100 followers. Thank you all for making this happen! When I made this blog almost two years ago (wow, this blog is old) I never in my wildest dreams imagined people would enjoy my writing and portrayal of Cole enough to stick around. Thank you so much!
I want to give a special mention to my best friend. She plays thehonorbound (who also plays an amazing, amazing Cassandra that can be found seekingabalance and you should all go give some love to yes good). I would not have made Cole in the first place and continued to play him without her support and guidance. You're the absolute best!
I can't go without mentioning the people who I've rped with and have made this experience great, either. Big thanks to:
adxar, arielshepard, cognxscens, elgararla, espritchevalier, fadecloaked, ferguscousland, gildedfaith, inqxisitxr, mountainmage, necrmantic, rohan-hawke, siwanlavellan, spiritbranded, starkhavenshadow, trxvelyan, and wardentheo.
There are so many more people I want to thank. Those who are just now following and are starting to get some interactions going. And of course those who stick around regardless of if we have something going on or not. You are all so awesome! We should definitely write more together.
Thank you all for making this experience great! You're an amazing bunch of people with amazing writing and amazing creativity! Too much amazing for one sentence!

"Whispers in his head, tied and trapped, but he doesn't break," Cole's words come out in a jumbled rush. His fingers knot together, shoulders tense, like he might burst from the feelings he describes.Â
"He’s upset with me, but I just wanted to help."

"Someone might trip over them?"
"They're making things safer. This is good."
"Why does everyone want to pick up lines?"
Zevran chuckles. From his position it is difficult to see who he’s speaking to, only the material of Cole’s boots, but he supposes he is quite an interesting sight himself. Zevran balances on his forearms, spine bent backwards in a tight arc, feet poised over his head.Â
"Stretching, my friend. Would you like to try?"Â
“No,” Cole says slowly, his brows furrowing. It looks uncomfortable, and he doubts he’d be able to bend in such a way. He finds himself wondering how the elf manages it. Finally curiosity overtakes him. “Why are you doing that?”
Fergus regards the young man curiously, the gentle explanation causing him to raise an eyebrow, and the insignia on the hilt even more so. “I daresay you couldn’t, since the owner is not of the Inquisition,” he said calmly.
"The sword belongs to one of my company.  That’s the mark of Highever at the hilt.  Where did you find it?"
“The tavern,” Cole responds automatically. Suddenly, the weight in his arms feels heavier. Something like guilt twists knots in his chest. Perhaps he should’ve left it alone. Or perhaps he is about to be reprimanded.
“I’m sorry,” he finishes, holding it out quickly for the stranger to take.
The question weighs heavy on her. The logical answer was that yes, she planned on going back. Yet every uncertainty since she took up this role kept a concrete answer away from her mind. If she survived…would the Inquisition still need her? She wondered not only of her duties, but of the bonds she had formed with her companions, of the lover she had found (of another species, a fact frowned upon by her people)…Could she truly leave all of this behind?
”I…I don’t know, Cole…I would want to…But…” she sighs, “There are people here I don’t wish to abandon either…”
“I understand,” says Cole. He does, in a sense. Part of him wishes to find his lost friends, and another knows that he doesn’t truly belong anywhere. With the Inquisitor, he has purpose. It has to be enough.
     ”He wasn’t?”
How genuine her surprise looks, that her brother would hold his tongue around Cole but not her. After a few moments, however, the look vanishes and she returns to her usual, seemingly indifferent self.
“I must admit, every plan I had for this conversation has just been ruined by Titus’ newly found politeness.”Â
“He wasn’t polite,” Cole says slowly.
He looks down at his well-worn shoes. The significance of the situation is lost on him, but that won’t stop him from being truthful. “But he wasn’t rude.”
"And today we learnt that poking a sleeping drake isn’t as fun as it might sound."
"That doesn't sound fun."
She regarded him quietly for a moment, the sound of their feet against the worn road the only thing breaking the silence for a while.  ”I’m heading to Ostwick,” she said eventually.  ”You’re more than welcome to join me, if you care to head that far.”
The name is unfamiliar. Cole doesn’t know what is in Ostwick, but where there are more people, there will definitely be something he can do to change their circumstances. Cole finds himself nodding.
“I’ll go to Ostwick with you.”
The air ripples with magic. Bright green light pours from the space between reality and the Fade. Demons will find the breach easily enough, pouring through like water flowing along the riverbed. Cole watches from a distance, his pale eyes scanning for the first signs of trouble.
“You could always go back,” he suggests. “It’ll be safer.”
