This blog is officially dead until my muse comes back, which is starting to seem less and less likely tbh. I don't want to delete the blog because I have some really great interactions on here, but yeah. Not going to be posting. If I do get inspiration to rp again it's going to be off of the fact that Jisu's dead and either his siblings visit him in Elysium or he breaks out somehow.

Finally meeting the friends

Jess had wanted Jisu to meet her friends for ages, she’d mentioned Amelia and Kau a few times in conversation-a witch and fallen angel respectively- and she’d told her friends how awesome her brother was too many times to count. He really was her favourite big brother. So she’d managed to find a day that her friends and her didn’t have uni and asked her brother if he could come over to her house so he could meet everyone.

She hadn’t set a outfit requirement so everyone was in pretty casual wear and Amelia had agreed to help her make lunch, which was why when the doorbell rang there was some cursing from the kitchen

“Kau! Can you get that for me? I don’t want one of the pups tripping up Deion” Jess shouted over her dogs’s excited ‘IT’S JISU’ barking. There was some quiet things spoken to the dogs to coax them out of the way before the door opened to reveal Kau, a 5′8 tanned woman who looked the same age as Jess with brown hair and blue eyes who gave Jisu a warm smile as she unlocked the screen door, managing to hold back the pups with her other hand. They were very excited to see him, Gyps especially.

“You must be Jisu! Come in, come in!” She said, pushing the dogs back gently so he could actually come inside “I’m Kau, J and Ames are in the kitchen cooking lunch at the moment, De and I offered to help but we’re not exactly food inclined and can easily burn water so we got relegated to patting pups duty”

Jisu was a little nervous to meet Jess’s friends. He’d been gone for so long, and hadn’t been around much - would they judge him for that? His sister’d told him about them so many times and they seemed to be really great friends for her, but… he couldn’t help but wince a tiny bit. He hadn’t had the best experiences with magic to begin with, and a fallen angel… well pantheons didn’t tend to mix too well in his experience and he tended to stay away from the Judo-Christianity crew as much as possible. 

They were Jess’s best friends, however, so he shoved his nerves away, called Diablo to his side and shadow-travelled to his little sister’s appartment.

Jisu had decided to dress more casually than he usually would’ve in an attempt to seem softer and friendlier. His typical blazer and button-up was swapped for a soft sweater with buttons down the shoulders. He wasn’t wearing his typical gloves, but the sweater came down further on his hands than normal, kept in place by thumb holes. He’d pulled out his glasses from the back of his closet and took out his contacts. By the time he’d left he’d realized that the look was far more hipster than he usually went for it was too late to change.

“Hey, nice to meet’cha!” Jisu smiled with a little wave, letting Diablo go ahead to explore the new person and greet his sister Gypsie. Poor things haven’t seen each other in ages. “No worries, I’m not much better. If it wasn’t for one of my coworkers I think I’d be eating ramen every night!”

Kau smiled, seemingly unbothered by the other hellhound and held a hand out so Diablo could sniff her before Gyps was all over her brother like a rash, more than overjoyed to see him.

“I don’t think I’d be protesting too much to ramen every night but it’s certainly not healthy, cheers for good co-workers” Kau said with a soft laugh before she made her way over to the three couches Jess had in the living room, letting JIsu come in and get settled in his own time. She sat herself down next to ‘De’ or Deion, a 5′9 Vampire with neat blonde hair, milky white eyes behind round rimmed glasses who was friendly looking but a small bit nervous if him fiddling with his phone said anything. Kau just affectionately gave his shoulder a squeeze before turning her attention back to Jisu “Diablo’s grown up since Jess last showed us pictures, how’s he been? Gyps the adorable sweetheart that she is, is a right little hellion, can only imagine how bad her brother can get”

Jisu gave a little laugh as he stepped inside the door. “Living up to his name, trust me. Little rascal’s finally learned to shadow-travel, which means he gets everywhere at work. My friends spoil him I swear.” 

Diablo sniffed the new person curiously before twitching back a bit in surprise. Not human. Had to tell Alpha. Diablo turned back towards Jisu and barked twice. While doing so, however, he caught sight of his sister and promptly forgot what he was doing before. His tounge lolled out as he gave everyone a doggy grin.

Jisu cocked his head to the side. Well, at least Diablo’s training went through somewhat. Wasn’t entirely helpful because he knew Kau wasn’t fully human, but eh, good enough. He turned to the others and gave Jess a big hug. “Hey sis, how’ve you been?”

Deion and Kau both laughed at that, Deion covering his mouth in an attempt to muffle it while Kau just shook her head smiling

“I mean he is quite adorable so i’m sure they do, perhaps, however, teaching him that he can only go some places while you’re at work would be a good thing? That way he can’t get into any unnecessary trouble?” Kau suggested

Gyps barked at Diablo and padded over, nudged him and then barked again, inviting him to play with her, Pip and Beau who were all standing there, tails wagging happily. Jess-upon hearing Diablo barking- was walking out of the kitchen after washing her hands, drying them on a hand towel before she grinned and hugged Jisu back, tightly.

“Jisu! Hey” She said before she let out an over the top groan “Christmas shopping sucks! No matter how early you start it, it just goes on forever! But apart from that, i’ve been alright. Still have some uni work I need to get done. What about you? How’ve you been?”

“Yeah, I feel ya sis.” Jisu said fondly. “I’m pretty good. Work’s been crazy busy with all of the backlog from when I was gone, but other than that everything’s pretty good. I’ve gotta sort out what I’m getting everyone for the holidays. Jazzy’s been makin’ noise bout wanting a new motorcycle so I’ve been looking into that recently.”

Diablo went into a play-bow and barked at the other three pups happily. So many playmates! Yay! He bounced up and started nosing at the others before shadow-travelling and reappearing two feet away, tail wagging.

“How are you all doing? Uni going well?” Jisu asked as he pulled over a chair to sit down.

“So you’re Jisu right?” Eden asked, staring at him with the ever so classic ‘bored teenager’ look on her face “If you’re anything like our bitchy sister, I’m going home.”

Jess had suggested that Jisu and Eden meet outside of Camp, more for Jisu’s sake than Eden’s and had dumped the younger demi at the meeting spot before leaving. Eden was mildly annoyed by the whole thing and really wished she was back home so she didn’t have to deal with any of this bullshit but she was still due at Camp until Christmas.

She was kind of wishing someone shot her and put her out of her misery already.

Jisu didn’t blame Jess for leaving so fast. She probably hated places like this. Moonlight streamed through the broken and boarded up windows of the warehouse, dumpster fires creating jumping shadows against the spray-painted walls. The embers at the end of his cigar burned with a green hellfire as he took a puff and blew. The tendrils swirled around, the faces of tortured souls forming in the haze. Hidden voices whispered in the darkness.

“Let’s get things straight first, darlin’. Being Lord Hades’s spawn doesn’t make you my sister. Call Jayjay that again and you won’t have a tounge to talk with.”

Eden crossed her arms over her chest, trying to look unbothered by the threat even when the very action of crossing her arms was one of defence. She was used to places like this one, they were common hang out spots for her and her group but This? This hadn’t been something she’d be expecting. She’d expected a scolding or an attempted ‘now listen here’ conversation.

Not this, this she didn’t like one bit.

“Fine fine.” She said with an eye roll and she flicked some hair out of her face “I won’t call Jess a bitch again. Happy now? Can I go?”

Jisu cocked his head to one side before smirking, stamping down the part of himself that screamed that’syourSISTERwhatareyouDOINGyouDICK- 

“Why, If I didn’t know any better, I would think you wouldn’t want to hang out with me! I’m hurt.” The nearest fire flared a blinding, sickly green as he tossed the cigar butt in before turning on his heel and looking at her. The shadows crept closer without the light of his cigar to keep them away.

“And no, not really happy. A little ghost told me some interesting things that we need to discuss. You have a few options.” He started ticking them off on his fingers.

“We could stay here and talk about what it means to be a child of Lord Hades and why you need to shape up fast. Alternatively, I could drag you down to His domain and let the Kindly Ones teach you that lesson for me. Or, I could take you to Gothan and put you to work at my company until you detox from whatever shit you’ve been selling.” He tsked. “Honestly, sweetie, sampling your own product? Not smart.“ 

Gods He hoped she didn’t call his bluff  on calling the Kindly Ones. No one should have to go anywhere near those old hags. He needed something to make her choose one of the two, though.

“I don’t and I’m sure it pains you the same amount it does me, zilch. As for the rest of that bullshit, I don’t see why that’s any of your business. I’m mean you” She broke off to point a finger at him and stepped forward, narrowing her eyes “Have made it very fucking clear that you aren’t my brother so I don’t see why I should give a flying fuck. I don’t care about dear darling daddy, I don’t care about you and I certainly don’t give a damn about what you think about my business practices. For all intensive purposes, while I’m away from my mother? Jess is my legal guardian, You can’t drag me off to fucking anywhere without her go ahead and I highly doubt she’d be okay with you dragging off a minor to go work in whatever big bad scary place Gotham is. You wanna fucking try that again asshole?”

She was laying it out as she saw it, granted she didn’t know if the legal guardian bit was true but Jess, either way, didn’t seem the type to let Jisu drag her off somewhere where she could get hurt.

“You think that you’re life’s hard, Oh my basketball shorts aren’t short enough, Oh my jeans are out of style, Ugh my lipstick smudged when I blew that joint. And you dare complain about your mother and the fact that Lord Hades doesn’t pay enough attention to you? You think a few monsters are bad? Try being burnt at the fucking cross because your dam thought you were the Antichrist.”

“And buisness practices? You run drugs out of your bedroom to your little posse bitch, don’t give me that shit.”

“Definitely. Let me just drop a note.” Jisu agreed before pulling the shadows enough to create black paper. He pulled a white gel pen from his bag and began scribbling a note  - ‘One of the trees got struck by a Stygian Iron blade. I pulled out the shadows, but still probably a good idea to check on her’. He quickly sent it away with his shadows to the Demeter cabin and then turned to his sister.

“All ready to go!” He declared. “We going together or separately?”

“Kay” Jess said, continuing to shift back and forth before she grinned “Awesome, feels weird being here as an angel, not a demi and together would probably be faster, mind if you do the thing? Not sure how I’d get both of us back”

He nodded in agreement, understanding the discomfort. Ever since his sire had changed him into something a-little-lot-more-than-demigod, camp seemed unfriendlier in general. It was almost as if the camp recognized he wasn’t normal and wanted him out.

Of course, he reasoned, that could be contributed to the fact that he went from living the NYC high life to living in a cabin in the woods.

“Yeah sure!” Jisu said. You gotta be closer than that though, sis.” He thought for a moment. “Piggyback might be the only way.”

There is a man, a giant man, 7'5 and made out of muscles and fluff. There is a look of determination on his wrinkled and scarred old man face as he looks upon the other man. "Yer sister sent me," he says before reaching over to sweep the other into a bearhug. (ursa-major-godliness)

Jisu froze as the giant man reached for him. What the Hades? Did Jess want him DEAD? He blinked in shock as the man swept him up in a hug. Well, this is new. He thought, but not entirely unwelcome.

He just kind of hung there, looking up at the older man before coming to a realization. “Oh! You must be Grim.”

Jisu laughed as he imagined the giant man in a tree. Gods, the things Jayjay got up to… He missed her being little.

“Honestly, I’m kinda enjoying hanging here.” The demigod replied with a grin. He had always wanted to try riding piggyback, but there was no way he was going to ask the god. Then again… Grim was pretty nice. Maybe he could get him to - no, probably not.  Best not to ask.

“Wait, you don’t have to cook me anything!! I can do it myself, you don’t have to go through the trouble.” He insisted. “Honestly. Just an apple would be great.

Jisu grinned before taking her hand and hopping up himself.

“CampHalfBloodandbackreadysetgo!” he shouted, before pulling the shadows behind the tissue box to himself and wrapping them around himself. While making hot chocolate was not such a bad process, it was the principle of the thing - he was her older brother, and had suggested the race. He had  to beat her.

He shadowtravelled away, laughing as he did so.

“You dick!!” She said with fake-wide eyes and clearly put on hurt expression, she spread her wings wide and flew up into the air. Speed flying to Camp as he shadow traveled off. Appearing as nothing more than a slight blur through the sky to the people who could see through glamour. She could just straight up teleport there but where was the fun in that?

Jisu cackled as he hopped from shadow to shadow. His sister’s words echoed in his ears as he dashed away. The darkness surrounded him as he used it to pull himself from Jess’s place to NYC to Long Island to -

“Aha!” He shouted in triumph as he landed in front of the Camp Half-Blood sign. He looked around. He didn’t see Jess, but was certainly prepared to have her pop out of the surrounding forest. “I won!! Haha!”

He leaned against the gateway to the camp and waited for her to show up.

Jess landed in front of the gate, doing a spin and grinned when she couldn’t spot him. She did a quick scan, easily climbed up the first tree she saw and crouch hid on one of the sturdier branches. She didn’t get the nickname squirrel for nothing. She simply waited for him and bit her lip, trying not to laugh as her brother appeared and proclaimed he won.

She made her presence known after he leaned against the gateway by clearing her throat as she shifted to sitting, legs hanging off the branch with her wings folded neatly against her back.

“Now i know flying here is faster than shadow travel” She said with a mischievous grin “So shall we race back or would that just be salt in the wound?”

“FUCK!” He shouted, jumping in surprise. A Stygian throwing knife hit the tree trunk two feet away from her. The tree started slowly rotting away from the blade, bark peeling back in layers.

“Godsdamnit Jayjay don’t scare me like that!! I could’ve hurt you!” Jisu raced to the base of the tree and jumped up. He scrambled up the branches before leaning on the branch opposite hers and pulling his blade from the trunk.

“Salt in the wound, sis. Salt in the wound.” He said with a grin. “Now come on, hop down before that tree rots out from beneath you.”

Jess burst into laughter, giving her brother a grin before she poked her tongue out at him

“I win! Yeah yeah, i’m sure you wouldn’t have it’s fine plus scaring you is legally one of the things in the job description of little sister so i couldn’t stop even if i tried” she said playfully then she laughed again “Hopping down now, the dryads are not going to be happy about this tree dying”

She easily climbed down the tree, stretching her back and her wings once she had her feet on solid ground

Jisu winced as the back of his neck tingled. Yeah, they weren’t going to be happy he hurt one of them.  “Hang on a sec, sis.” He scrambled back up the tree and leaned on a branch as he began trying to draw the shadows away from the tree, which was leaking sap down the trunk.

With a final yank he managed to pull the rest of the shadows from the tree. Hopefully she’d be okay. Juniper was going to kill him.

“Alright, all good. Hopefully she won’t die, I’ll send someone from Cabin 4 to heal her just to make sure, though.” He jumped down from tree and landed in front of Jess. “Now come on, let’s head out. This place gives me the creeps.”

“It’s not all bad I swear I like this better I mean look at me I look fabulous.” He said with a shaky grin, trying to lighten the mood. “I got more powers and stuff so really it’s a win-win. I’m more comfortable this way.”

He wiped his tears away and blinked at the wing wrapped around him.

“What the fuck? Why do you have wings?”

“Alright good so he fucked up but he fucked up in a way that turned out okay, doesn’t mean he didn’t fuck up and he should have asked you first” She said huffing then she smiled, ruffling his hair “You do look fabulous and as long as your happy and comfortable then i’m glad”

She held up the box of tissues then let out a laugh, flashing him a grin. She was more than happy to let the subject change if it meant cheering her brother up

“I’m not actually a demi at the moment, i’m an angel until 9:45 i think tonight. Got hit with a grey face spell couple of days ago” She explained 

He pulled a couple of tissues and smiled shakily before pulling her close. Gods, he loved his sister.

Jisu paused for a moment.

“Angel? Really? That’s pretty ironic, huh considering our sire.” He snorted, before turning to her worriedly. “No harmful effects, though? Everything else’s fine?”

She just gave his shoulder a gentle reassuring squeeze, wrapping an arm around him in a one armed hug. Box of tissues being put on his lap.

“Yup Angel” She said grinning then she shook her head smiling “No harmful effects, everything else is a-okay! Perk of having a fallen angel as a best friend means she taught me everything i needed to know yesterday. Teleport is still a little wonky but i can still shadow travel small things to me so it doesn’t matter much”

“That’s pretty neat.” Jisu said with a small smile, absentmindedly playing with her wings. They caught in the light as they moved, almost hypnotizing in a way. It bothered him slightly that he wasn’t there to help her figure it out, but was glad that she had someone there.

Fallen angel, though? That was a bit… worrisome. Honestly, what had his sister gotten into these days? Angels fell for a reason. Jisu hoped that the angel wasn’t like the ones Jasmine always told him about - rage and vengeance, wrathful warriors.

“Are they faster than shadow traveling?” He asked, shaking himself out of his memories.

“Yup, aint it?” Jess said with a grin, she didn’t mind him playing with her wings so she didn’t protest to him doing so. They were pretty cool, even she had to admit that. She hadn’t even thought twice about mentioning Kau, she’d been friends with her about the same time she’d started being friends with Amelia. Kau had fallen however protecting Jess, Heaven had some strict rules about what guardian angels were and weren’t allowed to do. She looked thoughtful at his question “Now that i think about, kinda is faster than shadow traveling weirdly enough”

Jisu smiled fondly, pulling away from her slightly. He smoothed the feathers in her wings back into position before letting go of them completely. “Well, you know what that means.” Time to test them out. He popped the blanket back into shadows and pushed the tissues away slightly.

“Wanna race?”

Jess looked at her brother curiously, thankful for him smoothing her feathers out for her. She tilted her head slightly before she grinned 

“Hell yeah i wanna race!” She said eagerly jumping up before offering him a hand up, she was more than up for that. “Loser has to make hot chocolate”

There is a man, a giant man, 7'5 and made out of muscles and fluff. There is a look of determination on his wrinkled and scarred old man face as he looks upon the other man. "Yer sister sent me," he says before reaching over to sweep the other into a bearhug. (ursa-major-godliness)

Jisu froze as the giant man reached for him. What the Hades? Did Jess want him DEAD? He blinked in shock as the man swept him up in a hug. Well, this is new. He thought, but not entirely unwelcome.

He just kind of hung there, looking up at the older man before coming to a realization. “Oh! You must be Grim.”

It might, Grim realized at watching the smaller mans face, have been an idea to explain himself Before scooping the man up. But then, that would not have been half as amusing. “Aye,” he said with a grin, an expression that those close to him would come to know as his most common face. “Dat be me, de li’l squirrel been talkin bout me? Only silly things ah hope.” He wasn’t about to let go quite yet, hopefully the other man wouldn’t be to upset about staying hugged for a bit.

Jisu hung in Grim’s grip, enjoying the contact for once. Jess was really the only one who gave them nowadays, all things considered. He returned the hug, still looking up at the man’s face.

“Squirrel? Ooh, I’ll have to keep that one.” He replied with a grin. Gods, the things he could do with that nickname. Maybe he’d get a squirrel stuffie for her birthday or something. Give her a bunch of nuts too - wait, was she allergic? Shit, he’d been gone for too long, he couldn’t even remember…He’d have to ask the pups. They would know.

“Yeah, she talks about you a lot.”

Damn, that came out wrong. “Only the best. She calls you her dad a lot.” Jisu added quickly. Probably not a good thing to anger the god too quick - learned that lesson from his sire a LONG time ago.

The fact that he was, not only not protesting, but actually returning the hug had Grim grinning, a big toothy smile.

“Aye, it’s from de first time ah met her, ahn she was climbin up trees lihke a tiny squirrel, gettin to de good apples.” And, which he coudn’t quite recall why, escaping him. Had he threatened her with tickles? He thought that may have been it, or at least something similar.

“She does?” His eyebrow raised a moment, an amused hint in his tone. He was just about to ask what she’d been saying, as the young man answered that for him, kind of. If he’d been happy before, he was positively beaming hearing that, and, which would have been impossible to tell had he not been so close, there may have been a hint of dampness to his eyes. “Dat sweet li’l thing, ah’m goin tah bake her somethin nice later,” he said, feeling rather very proud that she’d been saying that. Especially as he often had worries that she’d have felt forced into the role. “How bout you?” He added, somewhat as an afterthought, any kinds oh treats yer fond oh?”

“Yeah, sounds like Jayjay. I used to have to pop into the trees to get her down.” Jisu smiled fondly. Gods, was he glad he gave her Gypsie.

He was happy that Grim seemed to really care about Jess. He knew that his sister looked up to the god as a father figure, but it was great to hear that the affection was mutual. She needed someone like him.

“Apples and chocolate are a shared favorite, to be honest. I used to really like pomegranates too, but uh...” He flushed sheepishly. “Not since my visit with my sire.” Gods, no way was he eating anything remotely connected to the Underworld anytime soon.
