When shit hits the fan, are you the coward that runs or the fool that stays?
150 years after our society collapses, life starts anew in Darwin. A country surrounded by the ruins of northern Mexico whose goal is to bring back the world we once knew, no matter the cost. Even creating an army of genetically-modified slaves.
Lyvrea, Othello, and Isador—an opinionated nurse, a half-assed criminal, and a delusional nepo baby entangle with each other when they get drafted into this army at the worst possible time. A coup aiming to liberate the slaves and get revenge on Darwin explodes in the middle of their training and leaves them stranded in the ruins, forcing them to strike an unlikely partnership.
Stumbling from one accident to the next thanks to their stubbornness, Lyvrea, Othello, and Isador must learn to yield if they want to make it back to Darwin in time to warn them before the coup takes innocent lives. As they navigate the perilous road back home, they uncover hard truths about the past and themselves, and come to realize not everyone can afford to be the chosen one.
Some people have something to lose, someone they love.
Featuring:
Gritty worldbuilding with just enough hope to make you cry.
Main trio who argue like idiots but would kill for each other and they secretly want to kiss but are terminally stupid about it.
✨Have you ever tried this one?✨(your wildest fantasy about setting capitalism on fire and succeeding)
Lovable characters including tropes like:
Perpetually exhausted best girl with a lot of pent up rage and eldest daughter syndrome.
Absolute bastard boy ready to risk it all.
Broody babygirl (he is 5"9) who can’t control his temper (yearning) for the life of him.
Pathetic Men™️
In this house we support women's rights and women's wrongs.
Bisexuals realizing everyone has two hands, if you know what I mean.
tl;dr: If you never got over the Hunger Games and your favorite tropes are found family and characters who need therapy (but set everything on fire instead), stick around—Darwin is waiting for you (derogative 💀).
Have a little taste.
