Metcest fic idea, where Cat and Ryan had broken up due to Ryan finding out she had another man in Brazil at the same time.(Omg that feels brutal to write but oh well;_;)
Adam comes over one day, and notices Ryan sitting on the couch in his pjs, cuddling with Olly and just looking like a mess in general. Adam knew Cat had cheated on him and that they had ended their relationship, but that had been a few months ago already, and Ryan seemed to have gotten a bit better, but something else seemed to bother him.
Adam goes over and asks whats wrong, and Ryan shows him a post on insta.
It's from Cat, and in the picture, she was holding up her hand with a ring on, her now fiancée next to her.
Adam immediately feels a sense anger. Of course, if she had found someone else after breaking up with Ryan it would have been a different story, but the fact that she had said yes to Ryan's proposal only to start dating another man in a different country was just fucked up.
He pulls Ryan into his side in an embrace, and they stat quiet for a while until Adam whispered
"You know.. I could be a better boyfriend than what she ever was to you."
OOH OK I LIKE THIS (yes I feel guilty writing anything even remotely negative about their partners/exes… but hey, it’s fiction!)
I LOVE the idea of Adam just DROPPING that line and how Ryan might react while in such a vulnerable place. His self-esteem at an absolute low, desperate for reassurance and validation. Maybe part of him was hoping to hear those words, no matter how wrong “boyfriend” sounds coming from Adam.
And he’s shock but only for a moment before accepting and letting Adam shower him in all the love he’s been craving.
And all of Adam’s protectiveness over Ryan, the anger he would feel at seeing his little brother be betrayed, maybe he didn’t trust her from the beginning and this just proves him right… and having no outlet for any of those emotions until he finally breaks and admits how he feels as he holds Ryan.
