“When Alcyone made her nest on the beach, waves threatened to destroy it. Aeolus restrained his winds and kept them calm during seven days in each year, so she could lay her eggs. These became known as the "halcyon days," when storms do not occur. Today, the term is used to denote a past period that is being remembered for being happy and/or successful”

This time last year we were frolicking in the Italian coastal towns of Amalfi, Positano, Atrani and the island of Capri.
I haven't uploaded any photos since last year as I've been really busy lately. Now that I'm on maternity leave. Yes maternity leave, i can now share the albums that I've been meaning to share about our trip last year in Europe. Here are my postcards from Milan and the Top 10 that we did that you should do as well. Enjoy!
10 Things to do in Milan
1. Visit the Duomo and climb to the top: amazing views and breathtaking architecture
2. Camparino in Galleria
At the Piazza del Duomo entrance to Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II is Milan's most celebrated bar. Known until recently as Zucca, it's been there since the Galleria opened in 1867; former regulars included Verdi and Toscanini. Its interior, listed as a historic monument drips with belle époque detail: the mosaics, the wrought-iron chandeliers and the carved bar itself.
3. Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II
The soaring arcade of stone, glass and wrought iron that links piazza del Duomo with La Scala. Famous for high end luxury shopping. Again the architecture is beautiful.
4.Trams
The Duomo's only rival as a symbol of Milan is the tram: it may be slow but there is no cosier way to negotiate the city's streets. Milan has 17 remaining tramlines, including the splendid, unmodernised lines 1 and 5, whose single, antiquated-looking cars trundle through the city centre.
5. 10 Corso Como
10 Corso Como is an oasis of high style, combining an art gallery, a superb design bookshop, an idiosyncratic fashion boutique and a charming courtyard café.
6. Triennale di Milano
Founded in 2007, Italy's first permanent design museum is located in the building that hosts the city's design show every three years. Its rotating programme of exhibitions includes art and photography as well as product, furniture and graphic design from around the world.
7. Castello Sforzesco
The city's former hub of power is one kilometre north-west of the Duomo. Built in the 14th century by the Visconti family, the castle was converted into a cultural treasure-house around 1900.
8. Prada
Need I say more? grab souvenir from one of many stores stocking the latest from the design house. Love it here.
9. Ribot Via Marco Cremosano 41 (00 39 02 3300 1646; http://ribotmilano.it)
Favourite place to eat in Milan is a pure meat - no fish - restaurant called Ribot. It has been there for more than 30 years and is always consistent; a place where you can go in the winter, in the summer, with family or friends.
10.Rooftop Bars opposite the Duomo
There is so many to choose from all you have to do is look up and make your way up. Serving delicious cocktails with free tapas while you enjoy chill out music and the view. enough said.
As part of our little tour of France, we visited the southeastern region of France named Provence. Provence is a region well known for its fragrant fields of lavender, bobbing heads of sunflowers and the famed light which has inspired many painters such Cezanne, Van Gogh, Matisse and Renoir. We caught the TGV train from Paris to Avignon and from Avignon we hired a car which was very easy enough and (in my opinion is a really great option) to plan our days as we felt. Having travelled towards the end of the european summer there were less crowds to deal with. ( A plus in my books)
Anthony and I decided to base ourselves in a villa 2km from Saignon name Parfum des Collines. Parfum des Collines is a converted barn and farmhouse dating back from the 16th century with all the amenities any decerning traveller would need, we chose this gorgeous location due to its isolation and the fact its right in the heart of lavender country. Everyday as i took my morning walk it was hard to ignore the lingering fragrance of fresh french lavender which is also known for its relaxation properties.
The village of Saignon itself is quite small, there is only 1 general store, 2 restaurants, a post office, church and 1 school consisting of only 100 students.
Saignon is so rich with history with a 13th Century Church and a charming village square equipped with fresh water wells, fountains and cobbled stone walkways leading to hidden homes wrapped in vine and shrubbery.
Simply Unforgettable! Go if your even close or around the area of Vaucluse.

I have so many photographs from my recent trip to Paris that I may take several weeks to go through all of them. However I can't help but post these up to remind me how beautiful the city can be in all angles.
My first couple of days in Paris has been a dream. We are staying in a beautiful apartment on Rue Vielle du Temple in the Marais. I couldn't ask for a better location. The streets are bustling with musicians, bistros, beautiful people and of course Parisian apartments and their gorgeous balconies.
Yesterday was raining andso taking out my camera was out of the question however we sure made up for it today. We visited the Louvre and Rue St Honore where I purchased my first Goyard tote.
Our feet was so exhausted from the shopping and walking that we decided to go home for a nap before we headed off to the Latin Quarter and Notre Dame for dinner.
I'm having so so much fun. Tomorrow were off to see the Eiffel Tower and Versaille.
Until then xoxo
Postcards from Chamonix, France and our first day in Paris.xo
Bienvenue! We have arrived in beautiful Geneva yesterday and having an amazing time so far. The weather has graced us with blue skies and perfect cool nights.
Here are some postcards from our visit to Annecy in the Haute Savoie in France. Worth the visit ( Thank you Katie) for the tip. Annecy is a charming village 45 km from Geneva, full of flowers, clear canals and amazing food. We had our lunch today picnic style sprawled infront of Lac Annecy eating fresh baguette, roblochon fromage and sweet tarts for dessert. AMAZING!
Tomorrow we finally head to Chamonix in the French Alps where we commence our much anticipated Tour Du Mont Blanc.
Wish us luck xxx
