The door to her lab opens slowly, and in steps her precious secondborn son. He trudges up to her, head lowered. "Momma..." He whimpers, and she finally notices the big, dark bruise on his face. Oh, no...
"Can you fix my face?" He asks her softly, looking so painfully sad that it just breaks her heart. "It hurts..."
"Oh, Baby..." She sighs, walking over to him and placing a hoof under his chin. She looks him over, checking for any other injuries. She gives a sigh of relief when she sees none. "What happened, Baby?" She asks him. He looks up at her with his big, sad eyes that are so, so much like his father's. Red, lovely red.
"I got bullied again, Momma..." he says to her, sounding just so heartbroken. It's been happening more in recent years, him being bullied by other foals who have gotten their cutie mark, or who see him as strange because he doesn't look quite right, doesn't look like them. With his long ears, his large eyes, his gangly limbs. Uncanny, one of her former friends had said. Unnatural.
"Oh Baby, I'm so sorry." She says, soft and loving and so so sad for her poor baby boy. he means the world to her, this fragile foal.
"it's okay!" Penumbra exclaims, perking up just a little. "Papa said he'd fix it." Oh. Oh dear. Well, likely he's already 'taking care' of things, so there isn't anything she can do... She just smiles, then, and brings her son close to hold him.
