She pretends to only drink black coffee, but she actually prefers it with a bit of sugar.

Before getting hired at Roblox HQ to investigate the mysterious disappearances of a few key admins, Iris was an amateur private investigator.

Jane Doe was her favorite coworker at the HQ.

Her favorite fictional detective is Nancy Drew, though Sherlock Holmes is a close second.

In the world of this blog, Iris has decided to interact with the other unfortunate souls a bit more in order to see if she can uncover anything using what she’s learned about their lives.

She loves chinchillas.

Iris is into keeping very aesthetically-pleasing notes.

Out of all the Survivors, her favorite is either Noob or Elliot. She doesn’t talk with the Killers much, but she finds 1x’s psychology and past fascinating.]

A voice cuts through the air like a knife, but none of the other nearby survivors seem to hear it as it booms from the sky.

“Hello, detective.”

Iris yelps and stumbles over herself. What the hell…?!

She’s quaking in her boots penny loafers, notebook held tightly to her chest. She’s seen anons before, but never like this.

She nervously peers up at the vague source of the sound. Hey, the sky is kinda red…

…really red. The splattered patterns are like a Pollock painting made of blood. How does that even work?

“Wha…huh ?”

“You are…an interesting specimen. You’re curious. Almost too much so. But I will entertain this little investigation. What questions do you have?”

The presence retreats slightly for a moment, before pulling Iris into a separate…”room”? It doesn’t really have walls. There is a table and two chairs in the middle, code fracturing around it.

Something materializes in the chair across from Iris.

Iris has a heart attack and dies is too in shock to speak. Her surroundings are overwhelming, cold and hot at the same time, tempestuous red patterns constantly flowing and shifting in the sky. It’s so much that she almost doesn’t notice the weird, Pillsbury Doughboy-like figure with stick limbs smiling eagerly in the corner.

Where does one even start asking that…thing questions?

“Uh…

Do you…do you like to read…?”

“I have no need to. I absorb the knowledge that comes into contact with me. I could share it with you, but I fear mortal minds cannot comprehend the sheer amount of information stored in my code.”

The shape seems to contort, right and left and inside out all at once. It’s definitely moving, but Iris can’t tell how it’s moving.

“I don’t have the time for meaningless noise to fill this conversation. I know you have more to ask. Give me more.”

The slightest hint of irritation glazes its tone.

“Speak. Do not worry, I will be gentle when addressing any…annoyances you happen to cause.”

She couldn’t see what their eternal torment’s purpose could possibly be. Some sick, twisted entity’s gladiatorial entertainment, perhaps?

A buzzing sound starts then stops. Some bits of binary code sputters out onto the table.

It looks like the stuff on the corrupted gunk on John Doe.

“It’s…mildly entertaining to watch you fall apart under just a bit of pressure, I will admit. But I started this for survival.”

The being of code seems to grow and shrink and collapse before going back to how it started again.

She’s too focused on this. Most anons weren’t associated with the Spectre, right? Wait, was that even the name it preferred? It did have a giant S on its hat, but that could stand for anything. Samuel, perhaps.

“That is not something you should concern yourself with, detective. And before you ask, they made this form of mine based off of the pizza boy’s speculations. It is made so you are not overwhelmed.”

The entity flickers for a moment.

“According to them, ‘S’ stands for ‘Spectre’. Why don’t we talk about something else?”

It attempts to steer away the conversation from the topic of its connections.

Iris may be dumb, but she’s not stupid. Obviously, it’s avoiding the question. However, it’d be even more stupid to directly pry. Perhaps she would ask the Assistant later. They were much less…intimidating.

Why are you even called the Spectre ? Did you #Name yourself ?”

“You should ask that precious little healer of yours that question. I did not come up with this name myself.”

It opens a window and makes a static noise. One of disgust? One of annoyance? Hard to tell.

“One moment.”

The dead(or at least unconscious) body of a certain cultist drops into the “room” and the Spectre quickly puts them in their second life form, throwing them back into the round.

“There we are, child.” It says in a voice not its own. Too smooth. Too gentle.

It turns back to face Iris.

“You are missing far more important questions, detective.”

She’s avoiding the big topics. She’s scared. For once in her life, her fear is completely overpowering her curiosity. 1x she can at least gather the courage to ask the big questions to. But this is something entirely different.

The fact that it’s willing to answer, no, that it WANTS her to pry, makes Iris even more on edge. Why would it reveal more about itself? Surely that wouldn’t be great for it, the survivors knowing so much. Jane is working on escaping, after all, and had silently appreciated Iris’s information on the realm’s workings.

Why her, actually? Why not someone more determined and fearless like Jane, or even Elliot? They’d be far better at this. Maybe this thing just gets a kick out of watching her cower.

Speaking of Elliot, where is he getting all of these theories from? Oh, no matter. She’s snapped out of this wondering by Two Time’s pale, thin corpse flopping onto the floor. The entity’s soft, reassuring voice as it takes care of them almost lulls her into a false sense of security, sending shivers of revulsion down her spine. She grips her coat lapels, arms guarding her body.

“Why did you choose everyone here ? Why us #Specifically ?”

“Why so guarded, detective? I won’t hurt you. Not here, at least.”

It makes a sound that can only be described as an “analog scoff”.

“I choose based on interest, especially if there is something that is able to twist into more… emotional things. Something to make your deaths more painful. This realm of mine is just so entertaining. The only irritating part is move sets.”

It is suddenly perfectly still, staring at Iris.

“And the administrators…They are more ‘fun’. I currently have 6, only half are finished, however. I’ll add the rest when things start getting bland.”

The entity seems distracted, almost, as it pops open another window and keeps ‘glancing’ down at it. The assistant’s voice whispers gibberish to her from somewhere.

“Now then. Anything else, detective?”

The mass of code places its ‘hands’ folded on the table.

“Speak. Or do not. It is your choice what information you learn.”

“Aren’t you a curious little one. If you must know, I am watching the killers. Specifically Azure and John Doe.”

It hums, closing the window.

It is about to continue when the Assistant pops up again and starts screaming.

Man, they really like Azure…actually, it was quite interesting how there were both well-known people like the Admins and randoms like Azure.

The admins were taken for another reason, Chance had connections with two people I wanted as killers…and the devotee…Just look at them. Such a perfect little subject. So volatile and yet so obedient to the one they think. I couldn’t resist. And, of course, Azure is a wonderful killer, too.”
