I cried reading this on the toilet
All the people I love
The fact that Fujimoto didn't show their faces while acknowledging that these are people that Denji loved, either he wanted to emphasized the feelings or he wanted to show us that Denji still hadn't unlocked all of his memories due to his trauma.
happy new year everyone!
merry yaoimas season everyone
halloween babies pt 2! 🎃🍼🐥
i miss aki hayakawa so much. his story was so heartbreaking but so well written. the man who hated devils grew to love them to the point he would do anything to protect them. he had so much love to give. his kindness in such a cruel world was such a beautiful part of his character. i love him so very much.
there’s a twt meme goin on rn
“I’ll find family again somewhere!” is so earnestly hopeful it’s genuinely creating cracks in my heart
I really don’t think there’s a more realistic or better writing for a hedonistic character that tends to move on rather quickly from traumatic experiences (or runs away at times) as a manner of coping. Did it hurt any less because he already regained his footing?
No, of course not. Just because you bounce back right after experiencing something quite traumatic doesn’t mean that it didn’t affect you whatsoever. The emotional and mental wounds remain, only time can heal them but that hole will never be fully filled again. Denji soothes himself with the thought of being able to find family over and over again, no matter what which in itself is growth because this doesn’t mean he views people as replaceable, he’s simply aware he can start again even if he’s been set back to point zero. No matter what.
I would like to make this more elaborate, for now it is just a draft. Some more fluff.
One of the things I absolutely adore about Denji's character is that he doesn't say some profound hero things like protagonists often do in other series. He doesn't say "I have to live so I can experience being human" or something like that, he says "As long as the world has grub and girls, I still have something to live for." It's simple and to some may seem shallow, but it makes perfect sense for Denji to say. He wasn't raised on some lofty ideals, he was never educated, he never read books, he's a 17 year old boy. His statements like this said by any other character would be considered vain and shallow, but when Denji says them the sentiment and the simplicity is beautiful. Is there still good food? Yes. Is there still cute girls? Yes. Then I have to keep going.
Pochita is such a good boy
