I sit in bed on a Tuesday night waiting for a reply. I keep checking social media to see if you’ve been active. Are you ignoring me? Did my message not deliver? All I want is a sign. A sign that you still want to talk to me. A sign that we’re still friends. The only thing I get is silence and I stay up late because there’s a feeling in my chest I can’t get rid of and I am on the verge of tears but I can’t make any noise, for I’ll wake someone up. I lay in silence, phone in hand. Eventually, I fall asleep and wake up. It’s morning and there is no new message from you. I don’t want to get up, my chest is still heavy but I do what I can. At this point, I know you don’t want to be friends anymore. I know you’re done with me but I just can’t let you go yet. Why can’t I let you go?

I know it’ll never happen but the weaker part of me hopes that you’ll text me one day, saying it’s me, it’s always been me. The weaker part of me still can’t let you go, no matter how hard I try.

My boyfriend of 5 years just broke up with me yesterday.. He just fell out of love with me just within a couple of days and I can't stop loving him. I want to talk to him but he won't answer me... what do I do?

So I couldn’t come up with short answer…

1. Allow yourself time to grieve. It’s only been a day, you can’t expect yourself to ‘stop loving him’ immediately. Love isn’t just a switch you can turn off. It’s ok to be hurt, upset, angry and confused. You are only human.

2. As hard as it is, don’t message him. Cold turkey and ripping the band aid off is easier than to slowly fade out.

3. Put all the things that remind you of him in a box in the back of your cupboard where it’s not easy to reach. That way, you don’t have to face the finality of throwing it all away or giving it back to him and potentially having to face him but it will be out of sight (and hopefully out of mind).

4. Delete him off social media (including, but not limited to, facebook, instagram and snapchat). Stalking him for hours on end isn’t good for you and you don’t want him popping up on your feed. I know a lot of people will say that this is allowing him to ‘win’ the breakup but no one ‘wins’ in times like this. Everybody looses. Just do what’s going to keep you sane.

5. Plan to do activities to distract yourself from your grief, whether that be a movie night with the girls, a 10kms hike or (if you’re like me) a cleaning spree. Make plans to fill your day so you aren’t staring at a wall thinking about him.

6. Keep it together for as long as possible and if you break down and cry, that’s ok. Try again tomorrow. If you make it 2hrs without crying, try for 3hrs the next time. It’ll gradually get easier with time and practice.

7. Don’t matyrise him in your head. It’s easy to focus on how good things were but don’t forget there must have been difficult times too. Try not to over analyse every single situation where you think things may have gone wrong because it’s going to drive you mad. Having said that, this one can be extremely difficult to do.

8. Start something new. Some good ones (in my opinion) are baking, gardening, yoga, hiking or martial arts of any kind. This ties in with no. 5 by allowing you to focus on something else but you might find something that you really really love and are passionate about!

9. Lean on your family, lean on your friends, lean on me. All wounds heal with time and I do really mean all.

"My Give a Damn's Busted" Spell to Stop Caring

“You filled up my head with so many lies, you twisted my heart ‘til something snapped inside. I’d like to give it one more try but my give a damn’s busted.”

A spell to help you stop caring about someone who is abusive, manipulative, or toxic in any way. Involves a lot of writing and thinking/remembering the person’s shitty actions, so make sure you have plenty of spoons before attempting this spell.

Materials:

paper

black marker/pen (banishing)

white candles

cookie sheet/baking pan (something that will withstand a forceful blow from a hammer)

hammer

knife

something to melt wax

Procedure:

1. On one side of your paper make a list of all the shitty, horrible things this person has said/done to you. Anything that has made you feel even remotely bad about yourself or your life, write that shit down.

2. On the reverse side, make a list of all the ways they’ve tried to excuse their behavior or convince you to still be in their life/manipulate you into thinking you need them. Get it all out.

3. Say each of the following phrases out loud or in your head, whichever feels more final to you. Rip the paper in halves after saying each phrase (so that it gets torn in to smaller shreds with each phrase):

I really want to care.

Rip.

I want to feel something.

Rip.

Let me dig a little deeper.

Rip.

Nope, nothing.

Tear that shit to hell and back, until it’s nothing more than a bunch of tiny, shredded pieces of paper.

4. Sprinkle the pieces across your cookie sheet/whatever you chose.

5. Melt a few candles and pour the wax over your paper shreds. Be sure to cover them completely. Wait for the wax to completely dry before proceeding (a thinner layer will dry faster if time is an issue, with the added bonus of showing your writing through the wax).

6. When the wax is dry carve your target’s name right in the center of the wax. Concentrate on how absolutely done with them you are.

7. Pick up your hammer, concentrate on their name, and say:

My give a damn’s busted!

8. Smash the hammer down on their name hard enough to crack the wax. Scrape the wax off, wrap it in tissue, and throw it away (preferably somewhere outside of your house, like a dumpster or something).

Weight Loss Spell for Anon

(I’m copying & pasting this, but I’ll add a couple side-notes of my own) Needed: Concentration & Visualization White candle (I also read that blue ones are good for this. I used a teal one in addition with the white this time around, but the white one worked just fine the first time. White is all-purpose, anyway.) Picture of the intended person Faith in your Spell Begin by meditating for 10-15 minutes prior to casting. (I kind of doubt the length of the meditation matters. I say just do it ‘til you’re sufficiently relaxed. You don’t have to be completely out of it, but at least comfortable enough.) Light the candle and concentrate on the flame. Imagine the intended person as light as the flame, weightless even. Do this for 5 minutes.

Now the picture is to be used if you cannot accurately visualize the person, but if you are able to you have no need for it. Visualize the subject and keep them as the focal point as your thoughts imagine them on a scale and the scales number is slowly dropping. (I accidentally visualized them dropping very rapidly. I’m not sure if that was the cause of how rapidly I lost the weight the first time, but it definitely wasn’t a healthy speed.) How long you do this, is up to you.

Say this chant according to the amount of weight you wish to be lost. For instance, 30 pounds you say it 3 times so on so forth.

Chant: (This spell, as I found it, wasn’t directed toward any god or goddess, but I directed mine toward Aphrodite. She came quickly and seemed more than willing to help both times) I ask of thee to help a friend (or yourself) to lose unwanted weight    What they may lose in body weight may they gain in happiness.  I ask of thee to assist.
