CONTENT WARNINGS.
this season of the hive will contain heavy/triggering topics, such as death, blood, dismemberment; murder; animal death (off screen and not described), religious manipulation, cult activity. we encourage you to take care of yourself first & foremost, & be communicative if something is making you uncomfortable.
001.
currently, players are allowed a total of two characters, which will need to be approved by mods before engaging in the plot. based on activity, you may be granted a third character. while there may be supernatural elements incorporated into the metaplot of this server, we ask that these characters be non-powered. we strive for diversity in this server! not only in race & ethnicity, but body type, skin tone, gender, disabilities & age. please keep this in mind when creating & submitting your character.
002.
we heavily encourage thread-based writing here, from long form to group chats & private text messages. please keep in mind that anything posted in the public channels is available for any muse to walk up & join. if you intend for a thread to be private, please submit to Unknown. there are no main characters in this server. plotting should be collaborative & serve both characters. one-sided plotting only satisfies one person's agenda & makes the other character a sidekick to yours. in addition, we encourage you to be flexible with your characters. this is a chance to explore other aspects of them that you may not get to focus on. staying too in character may lead to little to no interactions if you're not willing to develop them past their traumas, etc.
003.
while daily activity isn't required, it's heavily encouraged. infrequent activity should be at least once a week to help keep stories moving & your character an active participant in the plot. please be communicative! if you need a break, feel free to dm a mod & advise on how long it will be/when you plan to return. failure to communicate will result in you being kicked from the server. meta events will take place every other week. participation isn't required but is strongly encouraged. in order to keep boundaries & safety measures in place for everyone, we ask that people react to roles & list their triggers in their intro.
004.
godmodding/metagaming are prohibited. do not use ooc knowledge of events to influence your character's decisions if they are unaware of what is happening. engagement of such behavior will result in a warning from one of the mods. any additional violations of this will result in you being kicked from the server. we understand that character bleed happens, but please keep ooc & ic actions separate. if you cannot do so, a mod will reach out to discuss. if it continues, you will be asked to leave the server.
005.
mods will be watching interactions. character actions will influence the plot as the story progresses. please understand that your characters actions & decisions have consequences (good and bad), both in terms of the meta plot & in regards to their interactions with other characters. while our characters may be fictional, they are still allowed to feel & react to what happens to them. if a physical encounter occurs, dice will be rolled to keep things fair. we will also be utilizing dice rolls during events to determine the outcome/performance of characters in a situation. we understand that character bleed happens, but please keep ooc and ic actions separate. if you cannot do so, a mod will reach out to discuss with you. if this becomes a further issue, you will be asked to leave the server.

please do not question why other characters have advantage. if you have questions about why you have advantage, you are free to message any available mod to discuss.
