▶️ Cloud and Elmyra on saving Aerith, Chapter 14
☁️: "I know these people, and I know they're never going to let Aerith go." 🌱: "Enough!" ☁️: "But -"
i just rolled the credits on ff7 remake… oh i love them
▶️ Every Minute Every Moment Matters, (2020)
One of the best versions of the many many appearances of "Aerith's Theme" across the FFVII soundtracks. It is delicate and fleeting, not unlike "Chance Meeting in Sector 8", but with a far fuller composition; strings, wind, and piano instrumentation create the tension and underlying drama. Midway through the tension takes a turn to follow a different melodic part of "Aerith's Theme", leaning into the sadness and melancholy that haunts her scene with Cloud in the garden. The song reaches its climax in an amazingly suspenseful, memorable moment, drawing out the notes of the strings, right before Aerith tells Cloud to not fall in love with her. From there, as it looks like Cloud is completely stricken by her demand, the strings become deeply emotive, rising and rising into the air until they are cut off from completing the complementary falling notes of a familiar melody as she pulls away from him. The soundscape turns even more magical, filled with soft sprinkles of light, complemented by the low harp strings in the background bringing the last reference of her theme to a close as Cloud conveys his resolution to find her and bring her home.

FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE
Nothing is what is seems, not anymore, but this was real. It wasn’t an illusion or a lie.
These two… they broke me.
CLOUD: Is this a dream?
AERITH: Maybe. You tell me.

── ⟢ Features Aerith's Scene in Chapter 14 to recap the story of FFVII Remake
Final Fantasy VII Remake | ▶ dev. Square Enix
Someone has probably outlined and compared in greater detail already, but there’s some small but meaningful lost in translation clerith aspects in the ch.14 garden scene that imply some different things about Aerith’s feelings.
These are small and I’m probably quibbling, but I think it really it really changes the tone of the scene. Aerith was not dismissing or rejecting his desire to love her or save her. She cares about him, and the scene is so painfully romantic it makes me want to cry. (cr: x)
Cloud dreams of Aerith
"We can’t fall in love. It’d be useless.“
"This is what you believe.
I’m coming for you.”

🎤: Aerith tells Cloud, 'But whatever happens, you can't fall in love with me'... What was her motivation for these lines?" 📋: "...She's saying this to Cloud, but I think a part of her is also telling to to herself. It's also possible that her words are in conflict with how she truly feels."
—If that's what you want. Thank you.
