It’s the perfect plan!
((Where Damien won’t respond because he’s not sure there’s really words to ask or say what he wants to and it’s Re and he doesn’t want to fuck it up. So he’ll just work his ass off to do it and post it publicly when he’s finished.))
Damien-Auguste,
Thank you.

Your Dad Re, The Horned King
((what happens when Augustus tries to hang out with Re - probably to annoy Caim as much as genuine curiosity))
God took away my limbs and gave me depression because if my ambitions went unchecked I would have bested him in hand to hand combat by age 16.

Daddy’s home?
kaydenseesyou:
Kay trusted Re, of course he did, they never would have come this far if he hadn’t but that other side of Re, the Re that stood lurking in the shadows ever watchful when most family drama unfolded was a bit of a wild card. Kay was never entirely certain how Re felt when he was like that, sure he knew that sometimes he came around when they were intimate, in times when he thought no one else was looking but often the way his husband spoke to himself led Kay to believe the Re he’d seen come barrelling toward him over the sand thought of family as nothing more than a weakness here to drag him down and hold him back.
He’d been wrong though, everything that had just happened was more than enough to prove it especially now that he stood there watching the worry and confusion make their way into those pretty blue eyes. It hadn’t been the Re that was looking at him now who’d come barging in to protect his home and protected him from sure death when he threw himself into the threat and knowing it, realising it and having heard him call the island home had Kay’s lips spreading into an incredibly rare smile as he watched his husband come back to himself. The island was a mess, there was no telling how long it would take for the water to recede and no knowing just how well the fortress he’d built would survive against that much water but as a few bats spiralled down for exhausted crash landing upon the roof around them, Kay was looking at Re and smiling.
There his youngest husband was though, looking so momentarily lost and confused that Kay had to force himself to drop his eyes, trying and failing to get a hold of himself.
“Uh…yeah, it was Iammax.”
“If anything the guy just seemed confused as fuck, I don’t think he quite realised the repercussions of coming here, don’t know what else he might have thought would happen when he realised he couldn’t actually step foot on the island but I think it’s safe to say that thanks to you he won’t be making that mistake again. Thanks for that…and you know, not letting me meet my watery grave.” He followed Re’s line of sight then, watching the way the younger scurried to the edge of the rooftop and frowned as it took a moment for him to actually register what it was he was looking at because seeing Jean’s hell horse swimming through the water where there’d once been sand definitely wasn’t the kind of thing he’d expected to see today.
“How long can horses swim?” He asked as he reached into his pocket for his phone, still keeping one wrist very still at his side but one quick look at the screen he realised it was dead and he dropped it down onto the rooftop beside himself where a Bat struggling to keep its head out of a puddle of water moved to rest its exhausted and drenched on top of the water logged screen. Jean wasn’t going to be at all happy about this but Kay was more than happy to let him blame Iammax since the threatening water wall was all his doing in the first place. Egotistical displays of strength and power trips, yeah maybe Kay had a chip on his shoulder but if all of this wasn’t just even more proof of how much people like that fucked him over then he wasn’t sure what was. “We got room for a hell horse and a few bats in GhosTown?”
Letting out a groaned sigh he shifted himself with clenched teeth to move to sit beside Re once more, hazel eyes fixed on the hell horse as he lifted his thumb and middle finger to his lips and blew a loud whistle. He couldn’t call Jean and Kay was by no means an animal person but considering that horse seemed to like standing uncomfortably close to him whenever he was around he was hoping it would at least change directions and swim close enough that he’d be able to slap it with his key to GhosTown.
“Okay. So…we get the horse and the bats to Jean in GhosTown, then I’m thinking I’m gonna make a trip to Venice. I wanna get on top of this and I’m gonna make it perfectly damn clear to him and everyone there that if the fucker shows up here again he’s going to end up in the damn vessel alongside Evron. I also want to know how he knew enough about this place to find me here so quickly. Once I’ve done that then we’ll talk about how we want to handle Caim wanting to get the demon out of Red Sea yeah? Between you and me I don’t mind letting them sweat it out a bit waiting on our answer now.”
“And I’m gonna need a water pistol.”
There was an expression on Kay’s face he didn’t understand. He wasn’t completely sure if he’d even ever seen it before, but he’d felt it. He felt it when Chess touched Kay’s face in his special way. But, nothing like that was happening. They were atop their own flooded home with death spiraling bats they’d have to eventually console Jean about. They were talking about the demon who trespassed their home. He was stalled so still as Kay kept talking with that feeling connected in his chest and that expression on his face.
Re had probably never been more fascinated by Kay in such a whimsical way than he was right then in the confusion that overwhelmed him that coincided with the pride inside him that refused to simply ask for an explanation. He wanted to understand and yet he blocked his own learning with the fear of embarrassment for not grasping it in the first place. If it was scientific he’d have no feelings on the matter. But, when learning about emotions he always curled in on himself inside. He bickered with the voices in his head while being unaware of how dumbstruck he appeared on the outside.
Whatever was happening with Kay, Re couldn’t help but move closer when Kay sat beside him. His mind was so full he was only half listening because his thoughts had turned to his incomprehension. He even looked behind him and around the rooftop like he expected to see Chess had arrived again.
“Um. Y-yeah. We’ll make room.”
He didn’t address everything Kay said because his mind was in so many places. But, he managed to gather the main idea of the plan.
“Okay.” He liked the plan. It was a sound plan.
He looked out at the horse that did start treading their way at the sound of Kay’s whistle.
“We have super soakers in GhosTown.”
Still his mind wasn’t on the conversation being held.
Finally, he couldn’t take it. Water soaked with dark lines spread over his face, He had to ask. He kept one eye on the horse as it drew nearer.
“We you just thinking about Chess?”

Did you do this while blacked out? Or is this one you drew on your own ?
Private to Re:
I don’t remember doing it. Why? Look familiar?
Private to Kay:
Not at all. That’s why I wondered. You draw things you know on your own. You usually draw things yet to come when you zone out. Your images always come around.
Private to Re:
Not always. Or at least not that I know of. I’ve drawn a lot of shit I’ve never seen come to pass. This one’s different though, it’s more like what I actually draw when I want to draw which I suppose just makes it all the more strange. Usually when I black out it’s more structured, less chaotic. I dunno, I stopped thinking too much on what I zone out and draw a long time ago.
Private to Kay:
Okay. Just let me know if you ever figure out what it is.
Private to Re:
I will. It’s bothering you isn’t it?
Private to Kay:
I can’t stop looking at it. I feel like I should know. Like seeing someone on the street and saying “Don’t I know you?” and no matter what you can’t find any reason you could have ever known them and it drives you crazy because you know they have to be someone. You know you’re forgetting something. It feels like that.
Private to Re:
Maybe you have seen it before and something’s blocking the memory? I wish I could help but I don’t see people like you do, for all I know I could be looking right at the thing and just be seeing something else.
Private to Kay:
Maybe. And Yeah, I know.
