Do you think
Don’t mind him, Professor. He’s convinced himself that he’s the most beautiful thing to grace the earth, but you and I both know that particular position has already been filled by me. [He grinned at the Professor now speaking and gesturing towards what looked like an antique watch but had a faint blue shimmer around it, nothing betraying the fact this his fingers had tightened around Sirius’s with more force than could be comfortable for either of them.]
Red carpet it is then. [He turned to nudge Sirius with his shoulder, a small smile on his face.] Guess they don’t know you’re bringing home a blood-traitor. [And they probably expect Regulus to be with you. Wouldn’t want to cram him into a fireplace.]
[Sirius could have sworn McGonagall's lips were twitching, but her expression never changed. He reached for the pocket watch the same time as James, gladder than ever to have a blood traitor to take home because he wasn't sure if he'd survive this otherwise.]
Psst, Prongs, you're breaking all the bones in my hand. [It wasn't never let go but it would do.]
