Yeah, it was when my fever was at its highest and I was too sick to do anything fun so I watched Freaky Friday and then passed out and dreamed about Tangled.Â
I think you can guess where my brain took it, with one part being Flynn trying to be Rapunzel without completely ruining her image by being 100% unlady-like.Â

It really had taken a lot of mileage, but it was hard for him to let it go, "And by adequate skills, you mean you're talented right? I don't want this being ruined worse than it already is."

Could you picture the two of them under a bunch of blankets like:
Eugene: âLetâs go to Arendelle, she said, it would be fun she said.â
Rapunzel: âWell, it WAS funâŠuntil we got trapped in this eternal winterâŠâ
Eugene: âYeah, talk about getting the cold shoulder, yeesh!â

Rapunzel walks up behind Eugene, holding a long stick with mistletoe hanging from the top of it and taps her husband's shoulder. "Ahem. You've been back for a bit now and yet you haven't kissed me! For shame! So I'm here to give you a little push in the right direction."
"Oh, how could I be so rude?" He responds, turning to her and eyeing the mistletoe that nearly hangs at his eye level due to their varied heights, "Let me correct myself."
Marigold crawled on the floor, exploring the room with eagerness. She had never been in here before. It was her fathers study, one that most likely wasn't used often. It didn't take the infant long to find something to amuse herself. And that amusement was a satchel. Marigold somehow crawled inside it and curled up in to a ball, giggling softly as she played with the items inside.
He couldâve sworn Mari had been right there, playing with the toys the people of the kingdom had lavished her in. But the minute heâd turned his back for a moment, sheâd disappeared. He was now on a hunt for his missing daughter who had gotten into the habit of sneaking off and hiding. This gave her poor father a near heart attack every time though, considering his mind always got the better of him and he ended up imagining the worst whenever she wandered away.
"Mari?!" He calls, trying to keep any panicked edge from his tone as he enters his study. The last thing heâd want would be for Rapunzel to hear him, "Mari, sweetheart, come out, come out wherever you are." In the silence following his words he hears his daughters soft giggle coming from behind his desk where he sees the tattered and worn satchel shifting and squirming. He lets out a relieved sigh and kneels, opening the satchel, "You nearly scared Daddy to death, little girl."
As Eugene sat the crying Marigold on the floor, she threw her head back, still sobbing uncontrollably, her face red and clearly upset. She fell onto her back and kicked her legs angrily, tears pouring out of her eyes as her father insists that she picks something else to play with.
Swaying back and forth, the infant spotted something in the corner through her blurred vision and instantly stopped her wailing. It was something that glistened in the light. Everyone knew girls like shiny things.
She rolled over onto her stomach and wobbled on all fours, crawling over to the glass case which contained Eugeneâs knife collection. Patting her hand on the glass she looked up at her father, trying to tell him she wanted it.
Eugene is simply pleased when the wailing stops, having started to truly fear for his life at the idea of his wife hearing their crying child. He lets  out a relieved breath as he sees her wobble her way onto all fours and wiggle over to his rather large and impressive knife collection. His knives were one of his many prides and joys, with some of them having accompanied him throughout his entire career as Flynn Rider while others he had no real connection to besides them being just plain cool to look at.
But not for her. "Mari...you have a knack for all things dangerous." He says, crawling over to her and staying knelt by her side, "I shudder to think of what you'll get into when you're older." He's pretty much speaking to himself, trying not to outright deny her access to the deadly weapons by distracting her as he places his own hand on the glass case, the sunlight reflecting off of the gold ring on his finger.

She gave a nod, to agree with Mickey on his assurance that the princesses were fine. âA lot has happened..â She mumbled, glancing around. âVacations, Holidays.. Those sort of things..â Sally gave a sigh, glancing around. âMany new faces around too..âÂ
He letâs out a relieved sigh to know that his family is fine, but the entirety of everything heâd missed hit him hard. His daughterâs first holidays, first experiencesâŠhe shakes his head, rubbing his face sorely. âI need to get back. I need to get back to Rapunzel and MariâŠâ
Mickey smiled up at him. âWell thatâs somethinâ we can help ya with! Itâll be easy, since we know where we are. We can help get ya back together in no time! Christmas hasnât happened yet, so ya havenât missed that at least.â
He laughed a little bit. âThere is somethinâ else ya missed pal. Youâre not the only new dad around here anymore. I have twins of my own now! I think them and Marigold will be good friends someday.â
Eugene grins at the news, looking down at his friend, "Congratulations, Mick. I think they'd be good friends for her if the twins are anything like their parents."Â

Marigoldâs squeaked as her father lifted her from his shoulder to in front of him. Her head slowly turned from the vase to Eugene, lip quivering. It didnât take long from the corners of her mouth to move downward and for tears to start swelling up in her eyes. Her eyes squinted shut and she cried softly, kicking her feet in protest. Thankfully she wasnât wailing or else her mother would soon follow with a fury.The little princess waved angrily at her father as tears streamed down her face. She was not happy at all.
Eugene looked to his daughter in slight horror. He had no idea what to do with a crying child. "Mari, please, don't cry. If Mommy hears you, she will have my head on a stake. I'll give you something else to play with, I promise." He strides back into his office, setting the squirming toddler down after closing the door.
"There's got to be something you like in here!" He almost pleads, getting on his knees to get closer to her level.
