Halloween is over, but my hauntingly beautiful song is still available on Bandcamp.
There’ll be more cello recordings to follow soon.  Ive made these promises for years, but now that I’ve gotten on a roll with recording music as my electronica project, its high time i get some recordings out there as ‘Jes Burgess’ as well. Â
I hope you check out this new track, and I thank you for your support.
New recording!! Find it at MadeByDrLight.bandcamp.com #music #covers #cello #cellist #halloween #moviemusic #soundtrack #house1977
This is a mild Cross-Promotion, but I want to show off photos of the concert I played ‘cello in for Halou this last Thurs at the RickShaw Stop. The experiences I have, in preparing and performing with Halou is always memorable and inspiring on so many levels. From how refined their sound is, to the fully realized character Rebecca carries onstage, no matter what color or style her elaborate and fierce costume may be. I both admire and envy this. Experiences with Halou have set a very high standard for me to build my own music to, and the time and hard work they have put in to get where they are inspires me to push myself to keep at it with my dreams too. I always wish them the absolute best, and am grateful for the opportunities Ive had to play their music. This Halou Concert was unique and an exclusive incident: 10 completely new unreleased songs performed in their set. New words, fresh beats, but same incredible sound and elusive stage presence. If you’ve never heard Halou and live in the Bay Area, I strongly suggest you see them play Dec. 1st at the DNA lounge. Yours truly will be playing cello again.
If you cant wait and need your fix, visit www.halou.com

2 album covers I made today with photos and some simple apps on my phone. The one on the left, I may use for multiple tracks, as a default use, the other one was on a whim. "Reverie" to be posted later today, on my MadeByDrLight* Soundcloud and Bandcamp. 2nd recording to be completed later. Same piece, but cello melody. I arranged Debussy for today's live video, but decided it's high time I released more music. As I'm trying to fuse Cello and @madebydrlight into one, here's a great reboot, and starter, if you're new to my music. It's been a long uphill climb to establish myself, and I have a long way to go... But at least for now my short term goal is to have a clear-cut definition of me and my art. If you happen to be around at 6pm today, please go to www.facebook.com/theinkycellist and see me premiere this piece, as well as a small selection of other arrangements I've feverishly prepared for you. Happy Friday. Enjoy. *if you're new, MadebyDrLight is the alter ego in which i produce music under. Generally I arrange and create electronic music that has been described as "Dracula stuck in a Tron grid", "contrapuntal", and my new favorite, "if you put together Jump-era Van Halen synths with video game music" I mostly am neo-classic pieces, but enjoy recording covers, and more recently, original music. Influences: Wendy Carlos, Bjork, Gershon Kingsley, & Yasuaki Fujita aka Bun Bun
