“I began to think of the soul as if it were a castle made of a single diamond or of very clear crystal, in which there are many rooms, just as in Heaven there are many mansions."
John 14:2
Campfires by Greg Stimac.
“All who leave the land and put to sea will ‘find the same things’ – the land sinking below the horizon, the gulls dropping behind, the salty breeze. Tourists, merchants, sailors, pirates, missionaries – it’s all one…I shouldn’t be at all disturbed if it could be shown that a diabolical mysticism, or drugs, produced experiences indistinguishable (by introspection) from those of the great Christian mystics. Departures are all alike; it is the landfall that crowns the voyage.”
- C.S. Lewis

Purgation is the consequence of conversion:
Purgation is the repentance, confession, amendment of life and self-stripping that follows. There are two essential acts in this remaking of character: the positive act is the cleansing of that which is to remain; the negative aspect is the stripping away of all that is opposed to the Eternal.

Movement from an original close communion with God,
to a separation from God,
and finally to a reunion with God.
Photo by Tom Kondrat. The phenomenal world is only partial reality. There is a “Divine Ground” which is true reality.

The human spirit has the capacity to discern some kinds of truth through channels other than the ordinary ones of sensation and rational deduction.
Photo by Alex Catt. “Christianity's mystical element is that part of its belief and practices that concerns the preparation for, the consciousness of, and the reaction to what can be described as the immediate or direct presence of God.”
- Bernard McGinn
Hello! As I work on the next Teen Daze album, I'll be posting some visual influences here. Enjoy!
