This is The X-Files now.
Mere hours left until this picture is replaced as the last time we saw these two goofs.
Like many of you, I’ve been making my way through The X-Files over the last several months in anticipation of the new six-episode revival later this month. And this week I came upon an episode in season 7 written by acclaimed author William Gibson, “First Person Shooter,” about a VR video game. It might be the best episode of the whole series.
RELEVANT TO YOUR INTERESTS.
OOOHHH GGGOOODDDD SSSSOOOOOO SSSOOOOOOONNNNN!!!!
SO SOON!
You may have heard that The X-Files is coming back in January. If you were a fan when the show was originally on in the ‘90s—or caught it later in syndication or streaming—this is potentially great news. If you missed the whole phenomenon, we’re here for you.
SO SOON IT WILL BE BACK!
New art for The X-Files!
ALMOST TIME!
IT’S ALMOST HERE!
If you’ve ever wanted to hear a much happier version of the X-Files theme, here’s it in a major key rather than a minor key.
Anyone remember playing this?
WHAT DOES IT MEAN?!?!?!

Sunday, January 24th, 2016, the X-Files will return. This is a thing, but a good thing?
Beats the shit out of me.
Now I’m not opposed to it returning, my liver might be though, however after the events of the last movie it needs to be handled delicately. We’ve seen how this can be done wrong, and that is what the last movie did. What would the best case scenario be?
6 stand alone monster of the week episodes. Set them sometime in like season 3 or 4. Have it set in the 90′s so you can avoid pesky things like cell phones that would solve so many of the shows problems. Don’t address that everyone looks 20 years older, that’ll be the suspension of disbelief. That allows you to have all the classic characters back without any retconning BS that the comic is going through now and won’t need to be beholding to any mythology stuff that strangled the series at the end. But they’re not doing that.
Mulder and Scully are coming back, of course. So is Skinner, also not a problem. But so is The Cigarette Smoking Man, who got extra blown up to bits, and the Lone Gunmen, who are also dead. Which gives me a big meh.
Mmmmmeeeeeeehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
The Season 10 comics do this, and while they did get around to explaining it in some way, it’s not great. But then the last movie wasn’t great either since the Government I guess forgot that M&S were wanted fugitives and gave them a big mmmmmeeeeeeeehhhhhh too. Oh yeah, and the alien apocalypse happened 4 years ago too, which I guess also isn’t going to be explained.
So whatever. Thrill me. It’s not like I’m not going to watch it or anything.
But what you should do in the meantime is listen to The X-Files-Files podcast. There’s some pretty great Darrin Morgan interviews, and he’s exactly how you’d think.
