A little bit about me

I want to use this post to talk a bit about something that's really important to me: the LGBTQ community, and my place in it.

So I fall under the "B" bit of LGBTQ, which means I'm bisexual. But to be honest I don't really like to use that word. The prefix "bi" implies that there are 2 genders, and I firmly believe that gender and sexuality exist on a spectrum and are not binary. So anyway, I would say that I am pansexual, which is essentially the same thing, just with a more inclusive name.

The thing is, I don't really know anyone else from the LGBTQ community. I went to my first pride event earlier this year, in Newquay. It was a really good event, but I was so nervous and anxious that I didn't speak to anyone the while time I was there. I get pretty upset about it to be honest.

After that I realised it's definitely easier for me to try to meet people online, so please feel free to get in touch. I would love to make some new friends, LGBTQ or otherwise :)

A hearty hello to all!

So this is my first blog post (thanks for reading!), and I'd like it to serve as an introduction, and also as a platform for me to begin to express myself and my thoughts and feelings; something that I'm really not used to but I hope to get better at.

My name is Joe, and I live in the beautiful duchy of Cornwall. I have an amazing girlfriend and 2 lovely cats called Karma and Kismet.

I love video games, in particular World of Warcraft, the legend of Zelda, Pokémon, Super Mario, Metroid Prime, the Elder Scrolls, and lots more.

I am a goth, vegan, metal fan; and I have a few tattoos and piercings.

Anywho, that's me. I'll be writing blog posts about specific things that interest me and I hope I find a few people here who like to read them :)
