9-year-old reporter breaks crime news, posts videos, fires back at critics

The daughter of a reporter loves pursuing real news, and scooped the local newspaper Saturday with her reporting on a tragic homicide.

I know some of you just want me to sit down and be quiet because I’m 9, but if you want me to stop covering the news, then you get off your computer and do something about the news. There, is that cute enough for you?

9-year-old reporter Hilde Kate Lysiak after responding to mean reader comments on her story about a murder, like:

“I am disgusted that this cute little girl thinks she is a real journalist. What happened to tea parties?”

“9 year old girls should be playing with dolls, not trying to be reporters.” 

“You are 9 f***** years old. Seriously, what the f*** is wrong with you?”

Go Hilde! Never “sit down and be quiet,” and don’t listen to the haters who want you to play tea parties and dolls. Keep reporting and using your Active Voice!
