“Surprised?” the vampire’s grin was uncharacteristically wide, “Mystic Falls for New Year, thought I would switch it up a bit--” she chuckled as she stepped through the door, “Now are you getting me a drink or not?”

“Good for Charlotte. It’s a relief knowing that some of us are doing something productive with their time. What about you, Jules? Ever thought of going to college?” Amelia teased, nodding her head. “Victoria usually skypes with you when Damien calls me. We should have a Skype double date sometime!”

“Please I got kicked out of too many classes for telling the teacher things they missed during their classes--” she replied, she couldn’t help but make comment whenever they left some fact out that they hadn’t meant to, though when she divulged knew information it always got a little awkward, especially when she had to explain how she knew about them, having lived through said events. “She’s a little more restrained than I. Hm, we definitely should I mean, don’t tell him but I kinda miss that guy--” she grinned.

“You know me well, Jules. And I’m glad you’re back even if only for a day. We are so missed here. Damien sends his love too. Well… He didn’t use those exact words but the message was the same.”

“Me too, but I don’t know I’m waiting on Charlotte she’s been travelling and going to yet another college so I’ll be here for a few days yet.” she wrinkled her nose in amusement at the mention of Damien. “I missed my usual skype date with Victoria. I’d be surprised if he did, Damien and love in the same sentence? What a shocker”

regrets and mistakes, are memories made

Who: Julia Davenport, Mrs & Mr Davenport, Adam Wilson mentions of Charlotte.

Where: Davenport manor 1920’s New York, present day Mystic Falls.

“We’ll have the wedding in June, than by the time you’re in the Hampton house I will be back in New York” he was so arrogant, pacing in front of the fire with his chest puffed out and filled to the brim with his own sense of self importance. It was blatantly obvious just by the way the man walked he was in love with himself over anyone. “Then when you produce an heir—“with that, the brunette in the armchair’s head flew up, turquoise orbs locking on the man as he looked expectantly at her. “Wait, what—“Julia replied, her eyes then flickering to her parents standing beside her.

Whilst he had been talking some fifteen of the precisely seventeen minutes he had occupied there house, Julia had zoned out completely, her mind drifting towards the current issues she had considered vastly more interesting and important that Adam Wilson’s self-indulgent ramblings. At the words marriage and heir though, her heart had stopped, though not in a good way. “Julia…” her father began, raising an eyebrow warningly, as though he were half expecting for her to have said something quicker then she had.

“Well, marriage Julia. I asked your father for his hand in marriage, and he has agreed. We shall marry June 4 at my parent’s estate. It’s quite the opportunity you know..” yet even as Adam said these words he was trailing off, as Julia shook her head slowly. “No.” she replied quickly, standing up and brushing down her skirt.” Excuse me?” he replied, whilst a small protest of Julia please left her father’s lips. “No, I will not marry you” she replied, her light blue eyes flashing with her anger, at her father for agreeing, her mother just standing there, at Adam for being so presumptuous as to plan the wedding before. “Julia…” her mother whispered, yet it was useless, Julia having already begun to leave the room. “I won’t marry that pompous ass if he were the last man on earth” she had spat venomously over her shoulder before slamming the door in her wake.

Her father had profusely apologized, mortified by her daughters behavior, yet his apologies had landed on deaf ears, Adam fleeing the house shouting at almost everyone he had past, an awful stream of colorful language pouring from his thin lips. All the while Julia watched from an upstairs window, her eyes locked on the man fleeing to his carriage. Before he had stepped into the carriage, he looked up at the window she was occupying, a cold menacing smirk curving his lips as he finally got inside and drove off. She didn’t know it just then, but she was right in the feeling of foreboding that settled deep into Julia’s stomach.  This wasn’t over not yet.

In a way, Julia had settled into some warped sense of domesticity since arriving to join her sister in Mystic Falls, settling down in the house she had purchased for her and Charlotte to occupy. It was strange in a way, that although not completely gone from her system, her urge to flight had lessened slightly in the three or so months she had been living here. Whilst she still needed to get out occasionally, like her recent trip to tie up a few loose ends in New York, she still found her way back to the Falls.

Yet the trip had brought back the all too present guilt that still lingered in her even after some ninety years or however long it had been since she had been turned. One of the two regrets she had about her existence. Her parents. She still remembered the day with painful clarity, the sharp ache that had pierced her heart when she realized that her parents hadn't gotten out of the house.

Julia had changed since the early 1900's when she had been a bitter, wannabe feminist with her own rules. She had lost almost everything she considered and held dear, her parents, her humanity, her life. Still she could taste the smoke, smell the burning flesh, hear the pained screams. Still it sent a chill down her spine. 

Still, she hadn't let it go, the guilt, the pain, the bitterness. Still it would happen, one day. It had too.

They're everywhere it's crazy. Amelia got a pet koala apparently. I loved it, I mean Bondi Beach was perfect. You have to go.
