Art Challenge #1 - Pirates

This is #1 of the art challenge I’m doing with my dear friend @milui87! I picked the word “Pirates” for it and we both did some matching Fairy Tail themed art without knowing what the other one was drawing :D I can’t wait to see which characters she chose for this! I went with Erza and Jellal as they could be totally that infamous raiding power couple :3 So dear Milui, I really hope you like my version of “Pirates” here ^^

I was at Culture Toronto’s Foolish for Ghibli event this past Saturday in Toronto. I had a great time the previous time I went, so I decided that this time I didn’t want to go alone, so I went with a few friends from school.

During Yumemi Cosplay’s performance of Nanairo Symphony (Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso, 2nd OP), the sound unexpectedly died about halfway during her singing, causing more than one set of raised eyebrows. Not willing to let this cause a stumble though, she continued as normal, determined to finish the song.

To help her along, pretty much the whole audience began clapping along in sync to create a rhythm and help her progress, resulting in one of the most heartwarming events of the day.

Shout out to Yumemi Cosplay for her perseverance, the audience for their good-natured help and Culture Toronto for hosting the event. An event I’ll definitely be attending again.

Episode 2 of Record of Grancrest War is better than the first, but there are still things that can be done to make the writing tighter. It’s scheduled for 24 episodes, so perhaps there is a chance that this anime’s writing does improve.

My computer started taking screenshots again, so I got these from the first episode of Card Captor Sakura: Clear Card arc. I used to watch the first series back in the early 2000s, when it was dubbed as Cardcaptors. This first episode was pretty well animated and has a decent premise as well, if somewhat repetitive. Still, I’ll keep watching. I think it should be a decent anime.

Anyways, I watched the first episode of Grencrest Senki/Record of Grancrest War, an anime from the current season. It’s really nothing to write home about. Tbh, I don’t even think it’d be that hard to do better. But there’s just enough of my interest piqued that I’ll probably watch a couple more episodes.

Finished up the short-series “Pokemon Generations. It’s not something with much substance, but it is a nice watch.

Marathoned through Shokugeki no Soma: San no Sara today.

Overall, a faithful adaption of the manga. Nothing for me to really grip about that I haven’t already been thinking of. Barring some plot contrivances and the impracticality of a certain villain’s plan, it’s a worthwhile watch.

And, finished up with The Devil is a Part-Timer today. Not a bad anime, but would’ve benefited from a smaller cast.
