“you sure?” vanya inquired as she took a quick glance of their surroundings, in a way, to make sure that the other hadn’t lost anything, and so that she was still complete. “okay, um, well, it’s good that i didn’t hurt you cause i gotta run! big puddles are happening tonight and it’s just the right time to jump on them!”

Lacey smiled and nodded, “Yea, are you ok?” she wanted to make sure they were both alright before she walked away. Lacey smiled and laughed a little, “You’re going to splash in the puddles? That actually sounds like it might be fun.”

“I’m all for switching up the grey walls, didn’t know if you’d agree. Vandalism y’know? I’m for it but you’re an Auradon kid.” He laughed at her blush and waved off the concern. “It’s fine, I might be able to tell who is and isn’t but I can’t tell anything beyond that. I’m Alexander Nikkos, for future reference.”

Lacey smiled and nodded, “No I do agree. Vandalism aside the grey is just so depressing.” she smiled, “Don’t judge us Auradon kids at first glance you know. We can be pretty surprising.” she smiled and shrugged, “I don’t usually pay attention enough to the differences. It’s nice to meet you Alex, I’m Lacey Charming.”

as per usual, vanya decided to go play in the puddles and get herself as muddy as possible, though, with the rain pouring down so gently, she had to wait a little bit before she could truly jump around the wet grass, and instead ended up bumping against some other student. “shit! sorry.” the girl exclaimed instantly.

Lacey was looking at the ground trying to avoid running into any puddles when she felt her body smack into someone elses. She stumbled backwards and looked at the other girl. “Oh it’s ok.” she smiled, “Neither of us is hurt so no harm.”

Alex managed to repress the grin that threatened to spill out of his lips, but he knew that there was laughter in his eyes. So, he diverted his eyes, flat out refusing to make eye contact with her. “They are extremely talented, but maybe you know not painting on the walls,” he shrugged. As if, he thought, the walls are the best canvas. “Sweetheart, I’m a villain kid myself, you don’t need to fight for us to me.” He was just barely restraining the laughter now, because wow this was ridiculous.

Lacey watched the reaction she was getting a little confused as to why the boy refused to make any eye contact with her at all. “What you don’t appreciate making art out of the boring gray school walls?” she smiled a little. When she heard him say he was a villain kid she felt her cheeks turn red. “Oh uhm I didn’t realize sorry, I’m really bad with faces.” she smiled sheepishly over at him.

Lacey made her way over to her usual bench with her newest book and sat down. The forecast had called for rain but she was never one to pay attention to those things. She sat and opened the book getting through one page before the sky opened up and the rain began. Lacey let out a small shriek as she tried to protect the book and stood to run inside.

Really!Being up here is really fun. How so you have never been never on top of a tree ? It’s like being closer to heaven.

My parents were pretty strict about roughhousing outside too much. Climbing trees was definitely out of the question.

alex dropped the paintbrush the second he heard footsteps heading his way. he quickly made his way across the hall, further away from the painting that he had been in the middle of doing on the hallway wall. “can you believe some people? look at this!” his voice was all lies, a confused tone that sounded shocked. the painting was something that he was rather proud of, even secretly. the words villain kids was outlined on the wall, each letter made up of a charicature of a villain. “i mean, the artistic talent is there but some kids need to just move on.”

Lacey rounded the corner and saw the boy standing in the hallway. When he started yelling about a painting someone had done on the wall she let out a small sigh and stopped to look at it. She smiled and shrugged at the words, “The talent is unbelievable though. You have to give the artist that.” she smiled, “I don’t necessarily blame them for not letting it go though, it is where they came from after all, it’s still a part of who they are. Just because they are a villain kid doesn’t make them a villain themselves.”
