Well Well Well, looks like pop's gotta new prisoner! There's no way outta this dungeon, many tried digging, sawing, pretending to be one of us koopas even! But still, no one has ever succeeded with every plan they had, they've been caught and thrown back in! You'll be stuck here forever with no hope or hero for 5 bazillion years!

Oh, just what she needed. When the mushroom girl had already felt completely hopeless, the koopaling just added more salt to the wound. Toadette just clung to the bars of her cage as he spoke, her whole body seeming to droop in sadness.

Remaining optimistic was getting harder and harder- but Mario would come for her… or somebody…right?

Morton was taken by surprise with the Toad girl's reaction, it's not often he gets to taunt the prisoners, and usually when he does, they either pay no attention to him, throw something at him, or get angry.  Morton felt a bit proud and was about to tell his Pop all about it, but at the same time, something didn't seem right, but what does he care, she was still a Toad and he's a Koopa so it would make sense for him not to feel wrong about it right?  Isn't that what being a Koopa was all about, being mean (at least to the enemies of the Koopa clan)?  Morton decided to check up on Toadette again, though trying not to make it like he's feeling sorry for her. "H-hey!  W-what do you think your doing?  If you're trying to make me feel sorry for ya.  F-forget it!  It ain't gunna work on me!"  Morton stammered, he might've made things worse, or let out an open spot that might get him into trouble, either way it won't be good on Morton.

She smiles and twitches a few times to recognize this new face.

Yep. I only saw one clone of me, but I dunno if there is actually any clones of the rest of the family.

… But I think I encountered anotha’ Lud that became king, so that confirms one suspicion! Maybe we can ask dad ‘bout what’s goin’ on. Maybe not.

But what if Pop gets mad at us!?  What if he thinks that we touched some of his secret machines that no one, not even Jr.'s allowed to touch!?  What if he can't keep track of us?  What if we can't keep track of us!?
