If MUGEN was at its heyday nowadays instead of back in 1872, we’d currently have an immense flood of Vtuber MUGEN characters, Saltybet would practically be a Vtuber website, and we’d have absolutely legendary match ups like “Rare Akuma vs Dark Korone SSJ5″ and I feel robbed.
It would be an absolute nightmare.
Artists, obsessive teens, and questionable weirdos now have way more access to creative tools than the 2000s MUGEN guys.
You would have people editing KOF sprites to make Hololive and whoever else.
There’s no way of guessing how anime would be affected, I assume it would be the same except there would be 5 times Goku.
There would be a giant surge of Among Us characters with 90% of them being garbage and/or broken recolors.
Regardless of My Little Pony: Fighting is Magic existing, the MLP section of the community would be vile.
I think the critical mass/terminal point would be when modern big name Youtubers get personally involved.
People start working out their favorite parasocial relationships and it’s funny and cute and all until some funky stuff of Markiplier and Jacksepticeye starts cropping up.
Could you imagine the cesspool created from adding in Undertale and Friday Night Funkin’?
There would be some cool Breaking Bad characters at least.

One of my favorite internet things, and in my opinion, one of the most internet things on the internet, is the fact that we literally do not know who Elecbyte were. They are completely anonymous and we haven’t a single scrap of identifying information or… Well, any information about them at all, which is surprising given they created the Mugen engine (yes, that Mugen).
They created Mugen, millions of players and programmers around the world play and make characters for it, it has been a staple of the internet for over a decade now, and we have no idea about any of the people behind it. They just disappeared off the face of the internet
Elecbyte is going to make an unexpected return on 2031, wordlessly drop a zip download link, and disappear again.
The downloaded file will turn out to be Mugen VR, which allows you to actually fistfight people on the internet with full kinetic feedback. War will be a thing of the past as conflict between countries will be settled entirely through 5 vs 5 elimination Mugen VR fights, where each country sends their five strongest Mugen players to fight for great justice.
Everyone after our consciousnesses are downloaded and reformatted into various versions of characters from our favorite fictional and non-fiction properties to battle for all eternity.
So is this like a “You die in the game you die for real” situation or…?
Brergrsart, the creator of the Vinesauce Joel and Sauceboss Vinny characters among others has released a game with a roster made up of his creations.
Expect it to be busted and silly.
this person has made some of the most chaotic yet high quality joke characters in all of mugen, this is gonna be wild
My characters just get stuck in weird loops like this sometimes
They just kept doing that until the round ended
I haven’t played MUGEN in so long, I kinda just wanna restart customizing my build from scratch
Finding new characters and stages was half the fun

I haven’t updated this blog in so long because after a while I thought nobody cared, I’m glad somebody appreciates it! :)
