How to Tell Your Magician Triplet Girls Apart
The girls’ most notable difference is obviously their hair, so we’ll start each one with a mnemonic for remembering that. Nikki has two ponytails that curve outward, like a handlebar mustache? Like a capital letter ‘N’ that’s been sat on? Okay, she has top billing, but she’s the sister you remember after learning how to identify the other two, I’m sorry. If anyone can come up with a decent mnemonic, I’m all ears.
Nikki is the owner of the Inverted Bedroom, and the ceiling tea party scene is her time to shine. She’s the first one to notice Luigi in this scene, she casts the reverse gravity spell, waves goodbye, she’s even the one who comes back in to cancel the gravity spell. Each girl gets to be the star of one scene, so if it’s easier to remember that way, then Nikki is the gravity girl.
Oddly enough, for the puzzle where you have to put the hat on the statue of the sister that’s missing one, all three statues are statues of Nikki. Although Lindsey is portrayed as the leader, Nikki seems to have an ego problem, demanding top billing, having statues of herself, etc. It’s actually a pretty common thing, Nikki probably suffers from middle-child syndrome.
Lindsey is the easiest to tell apart from the others, for one she’s the leader, always front and center when they’re posing, but most notably she’s the only one to only have one ponytail. For a mnemonic, when she swishes it to the side a bit, it kind of forms an ‘L’ shape.
When Luigi first exits the elevator, Lindsey’s is the first hat the audience sees (in the mirror), but she is the last of the trio to appear. After posing for the camera, she swoops over to spook Luigi, eliciting laughs from her sisters. After which she is the first to exit, stage right, with the other two following shortly thereafter.
The youngest in a group of triplets, by only a minute or two, Ginny has the second most distinctive hairdo. Though she also has two ponytails, hers curve inward, plus she has an extra tuft of hair right in the middle of her forehead. She’s the reason I came up with the hair-based mnemonics, because her hairstyle kind of reminds you of the letter ‘G’ (or it does for me). All together, their hairstyles form their initials, NLG which is also the acronym for the company, Next Level Games.
For Ginny’s scene we have the three girls pulling things out of their hats. It’s unclear if she really stole Luigi’s hat ‘accidentally’ or if it was merely to tease him. Then all three girls get together to cast that ‘lost woods’ spell on the entire floor or something, and Ginny is the last to leave. It looks like Nikki also hogged the most individuality out of the trio, go figure.
