Ugh, Solas who doesn't want to be like Mythal. Who lashes out when the Inquisitor drinks from the well, willingly giving themselves into her service like he did. Solas who won't let Lavellan come with him in Trespasser because he doesn't want to become her Mythal. Solas who yearns to be stopped, to be saved from himself. Who knows what he's doing is wrong. Mythal who was steadfast in her convictions, who never saw what she did was wrong.

Yet Solas who kills Felassan and Varric. Solas who won't accept help. Solas who, despite himself, thinks he's the only one who can fix everything that borderlines on a god complex. Solas who manipulates Rook and uses their mind against them like Mythal used Solas's body against him.

The fear of becoming like your abuser. Fighting against a cycle that's seemingly hellbent on trapping you inside it. Solas who KNOWS deep down Mythal was wrong but love and everything that they were traps him between acceptance and excuses. Stuck.

But solas isn't like Mythal, even if does borders on some pretty toxic habits.
