Hello! My name is Jessica L. M. Nielsen, and this is my fan art blog! :3 I am a Christian artist who mostly draws Legend of Zelda cannon fan art (Zelda au art is usually gift art, so that will be found on my gift art blog) though I will occassionally draw other fandoms. Fan art drawn as requests, gifts, etc. will also be featured on this blog. Constructive criticism welcomed! I love meeting people :D PLEASE DO NOT REPOST. Reblogs are fine.

Status on Art Requests, Art Trades & Commissions

((Please be sure to read this post BEFORE sending me an ask/message regarding my art status. Thank you :3 ))

*Take Note:* This pinned post will be updated regularly as the statuses of requests, etc. can change. This post applies to this blog in particular.

In case you aren’t familiar with each category:

Request-A freebie. Or in other words, a ‘free commission.’

Art Trade-When two artists collaborate and draw something for one another. For instance, Artist A wants a picture of Young Link, and Artist B wants a picture of Tetra. So they ‘switch/trade’ so to speak and each draw what the other artist would like. Usually art trades are done between friends and/or good acquaintances.

Commissions-When someone pays an artist currency to draw them a particular picture.

Now this is how I feel about each category on this fan art blog:

*Disclaimer:* I am a Christian artist (specifically being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints), so I may not be as open to drawing other content other artists are. All I ask is that you respect my choice, and I respect and acknowledge that not everyone will agree and that most artists may be okay with drawing things I am not. If we could all just agree to disagree, and not be forceful to one another, it would create less drama and more positivity. For goodness sakes the last thing anyone needs is more drama! If you have any questions about what I will or will not draw, please read my art pledge here, and feel free to message me if you’d like :)

Request-I actually don’t mind doing requests because it helps me branch out and practice drawing a variety of characters in a variety of styles. Because this is a fan art blog, requests made on this blog have to be fan art. (Note: There are fandoms I may refuse to draw for any reason, so keep that in mind.)

Art Trade-I LOVE doing art trades! Why? Well if it isn’t obvious already, I am a huge fan of Young Link from Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask. It is eye candy to see him drawn in so many styles, I just can’t get enough of him! What I said about requests also applies to here with the added satisfaction of seeing something amazing that I love drawn by another artist :)

Commissions-Personally I have been wishy washy with doing fan art commissions. After doing research and pondering, I have decided that I will NOT do commissions for fan art. Why, you may ask? I don’t own franchises like The Legend of Zelda, Undertale, Omori, etc. each fandom belongs to their rightful owners and/or organizations. It feels morally wrong to be profiting off of characters that someone else created and brought to life. It also affects how well official merchandise sells, so in a way (at least in my opinion) it is stealing. I have nothing against other artists who feel and do otherwise, this is just how it is for me.

Sorry It’s Been So Long ^^’

(I’ll delete this post once I post the next art piece) I have been working on some art projects though I’ve had to cut back time on here because I’ve been working two jobs. I’m going to try and balance things out and find time to be on here so I can keep contributing fan art. Eventually I do want to take requests so I’ll keep y’all updated :)

I drew these Kirbys back in April if I remember correctly. I waited until now to post it because it was for my sister’s birthday. She loves Kirby-and specifically the Gamecube game Kirby Airride because we played it a ton when we were kids. The ‘I love kawaii’ is there because I made the picture specifically to custom print on a shirt :)

Another collab :D I saw this cartoony picture and I wanted to try something vastly different than my own drawing style. Let me tell you, it was not easy coloring this one! When I do my style, I know the lines and I know specifically why I draw a certain thing in a certain way, therefore it’s easier to do the line art. But this one I had to redo a few times. I I was also going to color the picture to it’s entirety, but that would have taken weeks or even a month given how long it took me just to color in Young Link. I really enjoyed doing some smash brothers fan art and I hope y’all enjoy it too :D I would also like to thank the original artist for the cool art style. I especially like the many facial expressions :D

I decided to do the Cartoon Network challenge...sorta. Instead of doing OCs as I’ve seen around the internet, I decided I’d give it a go on this adorable sketch :) the color palette provided are the only colors I used as they are the same and only colors for some of the images displayed on the TV network Cartoon Network. Thank you for drawing such an adorable picture syu, especially of some of the most underrated Super Mario characters (I can’t get over how innocent Junior looks here >//<). I’ve got some Zelda and other fan art in the works, and I’ll post them as soon as I can :)

Tiny Young Link (roughly palm sized) as a request for @tiny-and-determined

I drew all three here as one picture, but last minute I decided to split it up image wise because in my opinion it just looks better this way and it was hard to move things around (Note: I did not draw the background in the first one, it is from the official game and was designed by Nintendo). I hope you like it tiny-and-determined, it was fun to draw Link so small :D and it helped me realize that I need to practice drawing hands and feet more often :P my personal favorite is the one with Link trying to lift the ​slingshot. If only he had the Goron bracelet...

Yay! I am so proud of myself for drawing Young Link based on the official concept art! It turned out much better than I anticipated. I do acknowledge I still have more to improve, and I hope that one day I can find an art style that meshes with how adorable I love to draw Young Link as well as he looks for cannon.

Wow, I actually drew a character I haven’t done for years! I enjoyed drawing Saria. The background is from official gameplay art of Ocarina of Time. It was great practice working on hands and poses. I had really wanted to draw the forest sage playing on the fairy ocarina, and I’m glad I finally did! :)

And here is part two of the style switch :) Again, one of the pictures is official artwork from Nintendo that I used as reference. Navi was in the rough draft but she didn’t look good, so I decided to keep her out of the picture. I think I am slowly getting better at drawing in the Windwaker style. It was so fun drawing my favorite Link once again :D

I decided to do some experimenting/practice and I redrew Toon Link resembling the Ocarina of Time style. I used the official artwork drawn by Nintendo (and my favorite picture of Young Link EVER :D) as a reference and I must say I am very proud of how it turned out! I guess Toonie is messing with the Windwaker...he’s not sure how to use it yet :p

This was going to be a sketch that would, well, stay a sketch. But I decided to color it. I drew it back in February when I was feeling down. I couldn’t resist drawing yet another cute picture of Young Link :’D I hope this is seen by those who can relate and that it helps somehow.

This was an old doodle I finally colored. It seems like every time I’ve drawn Toon Link, he was always eating a cookie haha :) I’m pretty proud of how it turned out :D

My second time drawing Omori fan art! I attempted to draw in Windwaker style though that may or may not be obvious. Please reblog this so that people who want to use them for icons/avatars can, and I am totally fine with whatever you use them for as long as you give credit. I enjoyed drawing the headspace version because it makes me think of my own imagination. Basil was my favorite to draw (he’ll always be my fav Omori character :3)

Here’s the 4th ‘Zelda’-Marin. I’ve never played Link’s Awakening, but my understanding is that Marin is only part of a manifistation of Link’s dream-so in that case, maybe she’s an alternative Zelda/Malon? Anyhow, I used the newer logo because it worked out better.

Here is Zelda once more from Zelda II Adventure of Link, I used one of the only helpful references I could find though if I’m not mistaken it’s the same Zelda as the first, her design is just different and she’s older. In some ways I did better with her than with the other one, but overall I like how it turned out :D
