[Holds her hands up and begins laughing uncontrollably, curling up like a sad dead bug on a windowsill, trembling with all her hilarity.] S-⊠stay back! Donât! I swear! H⊠HhhhâŠ
[Actually tickling her would have been difficult, if not wrought with claws, but he was well aware of the bare-skinned people's reaction to whiskers. And she had been so dismayed earlier- well, it couldn't hurt.]
[Instead of reaching for her, Do'Kashta simply nudges his head up under her chin, and lets his whiskers do the rest]
[Instinctively she recoils and looks at him warily, though her already helpless laughing may say otherwise.] N⊠Donât⊠look at me like thatâŠ!
[all he does is pace forward, as if he means to tickle her]
Like what?
Hmmmm⊠[Her face speaks of mischief, meanwhile.] Well, that makes one of us. Iâm ticklish everywhere and I think itâs a curse.
Are you? How fortunate for you it is difficult for one such as this to take advantage of that. [looks sly anyway]
Ohhh, I wouldnât make them. You and I are on good terms.
[She makes a suspicious face, brows raised, eyes hooded.] Ohoh? Are you sure?
Very sure.
[see that resolute face, it can only be telling the truth]
My ladies and gents, too! Theyâll beat you up in a hot second, donât you doubt it.
[Indeed â and she peers a bit lower, to get a glimpse of his main palm-pad.] Are you ticklish?
They can certainly try.
He walks on those. He has heard of two-legs being ticklish, but he assures you, it is not so for Khajiit.
[still, he pulls his paw away and sets it on the floor again. just in case]
[Idly, she takes each âfingertipâ and rubs each one, making his claws flex one at a time, looking delighted. Theyâre so squishy. A little hard on the outside, but soft.]
Excuse you. Are you insinuating that I donât rule with an iron fist? Iâll have you know Iâm as hard as they come.
[snorts, and does a noise that probably is a laugh among Khajiit] He is not. But your soft flowers might not like two hard people.
[but he does let her mess with his paws as she likes. If only because it feels more like honest curiosity than marvelling at an oddity]
Letâs test that theory.Â
[Lifts his paw a little more and tilts it so she can press her hand to the underside. Indeed, it looks like around two or three of her hands would make up his paw.]Â
That was a good estimateâŠ! Ah, your paw pads feel nice. Is that what theyâre called?
Mn... Not quite. But the word is hard to translate from Ta'agra. [he stretches his 'fingers' and curls them, causing his claws to press out and form a loose cage around Auvana's hand before relaxing his paw]
He would offer to help you with your Bordello, but perhaps he would be too hard on the soft people here.Â
Oh, I⊠darling, itâs not mine, not this one, Iâm just⊠head honcho for a little while⊠[Although she is oddly flattered by the insinuation.]
Maybe a pawful, exactly, if itâs one of your paws.
He knows this. But it is yours for now, hm? Now is more important than the past or future, to Khajiit.
[glances down at one of his paws, lifting it a little, and snorts] One of his paws is worth three of yours, he thinks.
[Grins and wraps an arm around his shoulders, rubbing his cheek,] Thanks for the pep talk, DoâKashta. But youâre popular enough with me at least, huh? I could really use the advice right now, anywayâŠ
There are a lot of problems here. A lot of⊠peoplesâ problems. Theyâre all wound up like a tangle, a ball of yarn, and itâs not really my job to untangle it, but to help them untangle it for themselves⊠itâs tough.
[makes a noise in the back of his throat something like a purr but not]
Your Bordello sounds like more than a pawful.Â
Do you really? [She chuckles, tiredly.] I donât know⊠sometimes I feel like Iâm being too harsh. Iâm only doing what I was told, but⊠ehhhhâŠ
You are a leader. That is always hard, and the ones you lead are never happy with everything you say. But if what you are doing is right, then it will turn out with time.
Trust him. He is First Mate- hardly popular with the crew.
He bit back a derisive snort; so, the captain was a woman, after all. Just wonderful.
Still, the ship had apparently traveled a fair deal around most of Tamriel already and that warranted some form of competence. And so, her ship was worth considering, even if he remained somewhat wary about how sheâd be able to man it.
"What kinds oâ stuff yâ willinâ to carry?" he asked finally. "Iâs got some things I need tâ deliver down tâ Stros MâKai. âs down your route, innit? Youâs goinâ down tâ Elsweyr. It should be."
"Aye, it is." Muurine straightened up, away from the railing, now that they were talking real business. "We'll ship crates and non perishables. Food won't keep the kinda time we plan on taking, even if rats are the last of our worries." She snorts at her own joke.
"Anything that'll fit in what's already in the hold. If you've got a mind t' take a tour, my first mate can show you about."

"An Inn?" Seron taps a finger against his lip, "Oh fine. You know what, Iâll treat you if you have so little money -â he presses a finger to the tip of Meryons nose, âBut youâll owe me, handsome darling.â He says the last in a singsong voice, laughing brightly when he is done.
"Are you not going to offer me your arm, handsome?"
He goes a little crosseyed in an attempt to focus on Seron's finger. "Owe?"
Well... fine. He was hungry, and what could Seron possibly ask of him that he couldn't do easily? There shouldn't be any harm in it.Â
At the last words, Meryon huffs fondly and offers Seron his arm like he would offer to any lady. "Alright. We go, then."
Ready for Travel
They had spent a decent amount of time talking, by now, but unfortunately Altmeris appeared to return far more slowly than one would expect, and he was glad that few residents of Skyrim understood what they were discussing at any given time. He was almost certain that they sounded like a pair of children or trained parrots.
"Is cold. ColdâŠmore than you think." Colder. Colder was the word he was looking for.
He finished wrapping yet another scarf about his neck (over newly purchased fur-lined cloak and hood, and at least two other scarves and layers. It never hurt to be careful). He had taken the liberty of stepping outside the inn some time agoâit was still dark, they needed as much of the day as they could for travel, but it was that odd half-darkness that ensued when there was fresh snow still falling. âSnow falls already.â
"Already? Not light, even." Meryon frowned. Perhaps he should have been a little more liberal with his coin, and purchased more safeguards against the cold? Nevermind, it was done now and they were going. If he needed to, he could.. come up with something.Â
He touched his earrings one more time, now fastened to the outside of his hood in a way he'd tried to make artful but was sure looked ridiculous. As silly as it might look, he couldn't simply pack away his power source like the jewelry it appeared to be. Still full, to the very brim. Thank Magnus. He'd have to kill a few animals on the road to keep it that way, certainly, but... it would do.
"Thank you for help. Advise. I... hm." Would be a corpse on the road, very likely, if not for White. He didn't have the vocabulary for that, yet. "Go, we should, before snow got... taller from us." Gets. Taller than us.Â
Swings decided to spend some time at the port while he was at Solitude, seeing a particularly handsome ship and sitting down to sketch it. Not knowing how to draw the side, he leaned forward to touch it, hoping no one would notice. ((hello! I hope you don't mind me just throwing my lizard at you! Feel free to ignore this.))
What are you doing? You will fall into the water if you don't take care. Arognian or no. It is cold.
"Iâm lookinâ, either way." Nherei looped his thumbs in his belt, eyeing the crew but barely managing to make out faces before they disappeared to work. The womanâor womer, ratherâthat had addressed him seemed of Altmeri descent. That meant little, at any rate, but heâd have rather had a man to discuss these matters with.
"Where are yer stops?" he asked finally. "Yâgo âround all the mainland, or what?" He eyed the ramp, narrowing his eyes as he dithered over whether or not to go up and take a look.
He wasnât sureâhe didnât like the water.
"Whereâs thâ captain, anyway?"
"You're lookin' at her. Muurine Ra'Krin, at you're service." She tapped a pair of fingers against her forehead in a sort of salute. "And this's the Lhaj Rawlith. Bound for Elsweyr the westerly way, so we'll pass by High Rock and the rest if you've got business in those ports, and come back up by what's left of Morrowind. We're a merchanter though, so we don't aim to stay anchored anywhere for long."
"I aim to stop in a few port cities on the way, but I'm willin' to put down anchor anywhere for a day if the coin's good enough. What's your business?"
