homestuck is so profoundly shitty for female friendships that when two girls even look at each other in hs i cry. the relationships arent much better its just so depressing. like the only ones that even came close to the top was roxy and jane and like....... which they threw in the fire for bluh jane is evil whatever and if roxy's trans now then the ship's sailed no matter how great they are, and then there was aranea and meenah and like, that relationship was messy and awful as hell but there was so much to it, all the secrets and the missed connections, the contrast and the compliments i was waiting for something to happen and it just.... never did....

theres so much folk theories about abuse that is taken as fact and is actually far more harmful than helpful.

if youre even remotely interested in how abuse works, what it is, and what is going on in the mind of an abuser you could do so much worse than just read lundy bandcrofts why does he do that which u can find in a pdf online bc this is someone who gets that a victim having a physical book on why their partner is cruel to them isnt practical.

if there was only one book that i think everyone should read its this one. i honestly dont think theres a person on this planet who couldnt benefit from reading this, because as the author admits interpersonal abuse is just a very specific small example of how oppressive systems function, so even youve never been anywhere near an abusive relationship, its still useful knowledge to not just avoid them but have a basic understanding how toxic relationships of any kind work.

i was in a rush when i made this post but im just like, i always felt like even though its a language from my country, it always felt so impossible to learn. like people put you off they talk about how the spelling is soo complex! it sounds so unusual and the pronunciation is so hard! how its not a romance or latin language, so it wont be as familiar if u learn frensh or spanish in school, and theres not as many resources and blah blah blah.

but honestly its nothing like that!!!! the spelling is honestly a total non issue. words are just…. spelled how they’re spelled so in that respect i dont feel like its any different from english. so what if you cant INSTANTLY tell how a word is pronounced exactly from first glance? english words and their pronunciations are an absolute crapshoot, gaelic actually is more predictable and consistant on average in terms of spelling, with english all bets are off so…

but its just, being able to hear something in gaelic and understand it is such a rewarding experience, its like after all these years of being told that “this language is too hard and its not for you” and then being able to understand what people are saying is so!!!! and then being able to read signs, and hear familiar placenames in a new light like!!! its just so much fun and really motivating i totally wanna understand this language fluently!

full grown adults talking to me when i was a teen: wow you’re so slim! god i wish i was that skinny, you’re so lucky! how do you do it??

teen me: uhhhh i dunno im just naturally that way i guess?

what i wish id said: im skinny bc im very very sick. my skinniness is a symptom of my sickness bc my mental illness causes me to lose weight/ stay underweight, i dont look good i look unwell. even if i appear to be of a “healthy slim” weight this is misinformed bc we consistently underestimate the minimum weight needed to be healthy including having a healthy amount of fat stored away to get us through times of sickness or stress. so like, i dont advise it, no.
