Forbidden fruit
A ripple in the water,
Is all I’ll ever be.
Nothing but a trickle,
Of my insides you can see.
A fake sense of knowing,
Comes upon you now.
Never drink too much in,
Be careful you can drown.
I am just forbidden fruit,
Taste but never keep.
Eat me up and swallow hard,
My mind is bittersweet.
I can make you youthful,
But I can steal your soul.
Once you get a mouthful,
You’ll want to eat me whole.
