Gifts for the princess

It had been a while since Rhaenya had even seen her little niece, though she had heard about her well-being through letters. As her aunt, she had her fair share of life. Rhaenya was going to do anything to help out her little niece, no matter what her struggles were in life. Rhaenya prepared her chambers, with sweets and delights. Something that she knew every young princess liked. She knew the struggles of being someone who was younger in the family, as Rhaenya gently caressed her stomach. She felt the young life growing inside of her, she felt the fabric stretch. Rhaenya sighed, as she looked at everything. The princess headed herself, to where the lovely gift laid out, she made sure that the bow was perfect. She knew that her niece never wanted anything too big, but she knew that there was more hidden feelings inside her. Then she headed herself to the flowers, as she stared at it. She looked at it peacefully, before there was a knock on her door. She had prepared for some tea, to be served to her and the young princess. The servant came in as she got the tea set ready, Rhaenya settled herself. She shifted the position of the pillow behind her, as she gently tapped her stomach waiting for sweet little Viseyna to enter.
“Aunt Rhaenya?” Visenya asked as she stepped into her youngest aunt’s chambers. She hadn’t seen her aunt in moons but had heard of the life growing within her and was excited to see her. “There you are,” she said brightly and hurried to Rhaenya’s side. She beamed, looking up from her aunt’s bump to her face. “You look beautiful Aunt Rhaenya, I’ve missed you!” She added and wrapped her arms around her aunt, feeling the swell of her midsection press against her cheek, just as it had when her muña had been pregnant.
“How’s the North? I bet the winter here in King’s Landing is nothing compared to what you and Lord Cregan have up North,” Visenya reasoned curiously. Visenya was not a fan of the cold or the snow, as it kept her inside for prolonged periods of time. She couldn’t ride her horse due to the ice cobbles and her dragon, Morning, blatantly refused to take flight in the snow. Even her songbirds were more quiet than usual, longing for the warm rays of sun they were accustomed to.
Visenya took a quick look around, making notes of the fragrant flowers, the steam coming from the tea pot and the presents. Presents! Visenya loved presents, especially surprise ones she was not expecting. “Are..” She stopped herself, the presents might not be for her, they might be presents given to her aunt. No, she wouldn’t ask about them. “What kind of tea have you asked for?”
Rhaenya smiled as Visenya entered, as she started give her a big hug. She smiled at the excitement of her niece and seeing her. She saw how much her niece had grown, as she gave a small kiss on the top of her head.
Rhaenya led her to sit down, “The North is cold as usual, but much colder here than here. I am glad to be back at home.” She smiled at the young girl, “How are you fairing? Everything well at home?”
The princess could see the excitement in Visenya’s eyes as she was going to tell her aunt everything and anything she could. Rhaenya held her hand her hand as she looked at niece.
“Before anything, I wanted to give you some gifts.” she brought a big box over. “This a traditional winter dress that we were in the North. I thought it might fit you well!”
She handed the princess the box before she looked at princess open it. Rhaenya was a gift giver and didn’t hesitate to spoil anyone and anything.
As she watched the princess admire the gift, she answered the question. “It’s just some light herbal tea, nothing too strong or too sweet!” she answered.
She gave Visenya cup, as she gave her a small cheers.
Visenya took a seat as guided, sitting with her back straight, poised as a proper princess as she listened to her aunt’s words. “I hope I can visit someday.” She wished one day to see the entire kingdom. To go on a tour as her muña and mumuña had done in their youths, even if Visenya was already betrothed to her cousin Jaehaerys.
“I am well,” she said with a soft smile. She was shielded from the worst of sickness and stayed indoor while her friends played in the snow for hours. “I try to be careful, so I don’t cause worry to my family,” she admitted. “And muña is letting me help with the masquerade, which is very exciting and fun.”
Visenya carefully opened the box and pulled out the dress. The fabric felt soft against her fingers, sturdy against the cold and snow. “It’s beautiful. Thank you, aunt Rhaenya,” she said with a bright smile as she examined the dress closer, taking in the details and Winterfell symbols. “The beading is exquisite! Is that a depiction of a direwolf?” She questioned curiously.
After putting the dress down, Visenya shifted closer to her aunt and took the cup of tea handed to her. She inhaled the steam slowly, feeling the warmth spread within her. She tipped her cup towards her aunt and took a careful sip of the hot liquid.
“Will you be going back to Winterfell before the babe is born? Or are you staying here?” Visenya asked curiously. She believed her family would prefer for Rhaenya to stay close, but perhaps Lord Cregan would prefer for his lady to be home. “How has Auerlys taken to life in the North?”
