Deryn frowned, shifting slightly so it was more comfortable for both of them. “I can say things like that because they’re absolutely true. I don’t care if you’re a criminal or not.” “Y’know, I think technically I might be one too.” They paused, pursing their lips. “So, even if I did have a problem with it, which I don’t, I wouldn’t really have much room to talk.” They smiled. “Really? Like, right now?” Deryn blinked, moving to slide off Sam’s lap. “Right now right now? I, um..” They looked down to their feet, shoving their hands into their hoodie. “What’s a.. good place to go, for a date?” They shot Sam a half smile, “I haven’t really, um, gone on an actual date before.. ever.”
Sam shook his head. “You can never be a criminal you’re too good. But, thank you.” he didn’t know what to do. Deryn accepted Sam that was something he hadn’t ever expected.
“We could go right now, or a different time what ever you like. And maybe dinner and a movie? Unless you’d like to I don’t know, go see a concert or, ice skating or something.” Sam shrugged it was Deryn’s choice, Sam would just pay.
“What ever you’d like to do it’s your choice. We can do anything.”
At the mention of ice, Deryn’s whole demeanor immediantly perked up. “Oh!! Ice skating! Oh gosh I haven’t done that in so long! Is there a rink nearby? Do you know how to skate? I could teach you if not!” They beamed, bouncing on their heels. “C’mon lazybones, let’s go!” Deryn tugged at Sam’s hands, pulling the taller boy up from his seat.
