âSerissa? No I donât think I know her. But itâs good that youâre designing things that would be comfy to wear, and practical. Some of those bras iâve seen look ridiculous when would you even wear them? Only on a run way for five minutes and then change because thereâs a wire thatâs broken and now poking into their boob.â Sam had been around more then his fair share of female models and they really did complain about their bras more often then not.
Sam nodded slowly. âIâm glad if youâre enjoying yourself thatâs all that matters.â Ellie was not the same, his Ellie didnât even think about putting herself out there and even trying to learn to fight. âIf you want I could teach you hand to hand combat. I do this thing where I can pick up any sort of weapon and know how to use it. Iâm not good donât get me wrong but, I excel in hand to hand combat.â
Looking like his siblings wouldnât be bad in the long run but working out that much and keeping a strong overtly muscular appearance just seemed like too much work.It was similar to models, they worked specific muscles so they didnât look muscular and then could do a single push up. They had muscles just not in the places anyone would want them. âThanks,â Sam smiled. âYou look good too.â But not as good as the week after sheâd spent at his house eating.
âDid you know that when youâre in an eating contest its best to eat as much as you can in the first thirty or something minutes before you feel full? I donât do that I know how much I should be eating verses not.â Sam really wanted a piece of cake but that would destroy all the hard work heâs done. âBut fun fact about competitive eating.â Knowing useless factoids was Samâs specialty. Heâd written a paper about the history of circumcision on a Calculus test once.
âThatâs the one! I know heâs kind of grown up. By grown up I mean he gets drunk on a daily and doesnât wake up before noon. But he is bigger height wise, and wow, he filled into his lanky arms.â Sam laughed remembering the not so smooth but still smooth Alan. âHeâs not too drunk so often his partner kind of I dunno made him grow up. They are super cute together.â
Ellie nodded and smiled. "Victoria's Secret is the worst," she admitted, fiddling with her hair. "Some of the angel wings they design for their Angels are so impractical. The models have to worry about falling backwards on the runway. That's not right. They should design them to be more practical. It's bad enough those women are parading down a runway in underwear with hundreds of cameras flashing at them." Ellie wanted to change the way lingerie was designed. She wanted to promote comfort while still looking good and making a woman feel sexy.
Ellie's face lit up. She knew her hand to hand combat was lacking. She specialised at being at a range. But sometimes, that just wasn't possible. "I'd love that," she mused, the idea already flickering through her head. It was a chance to reconnect with Sam. Even if they never got back to where they were. She wouldn't have minded getting back to 'friends'. She didn't want to admit it, but she'd missed him. More than she'd even thought she had. "I haven't had a lot of training with that. And I know I like being at a distance, but it's not always possible, so it might be nice to have that skill."
Ellie blushed, turning her attention to the food on her plate. She picked up a carrot and dipped it in her humus. She didn't look good. Not really. She was plain, average in every way. "Um, thanks," she mumbled, unable to shake the blush from her cheeks. "I've been thinking of cutting my hair short, but I don't know. I really like it long too." She wasn't really looking for anything. Just Sam's honest opinion. She wasn't sure on the idea, and just needed to talk to people about it.
Ellie shook her head, tucking some hair behind her ear as she smiled at Sam. "I didn't know that," she murmured softly. It struck her how much she missed this. She missed the little random facts that he always seemed to have. "I used to love your little factoids. You always had a different fun fact for me. It was always so fascinating."
Ellie laughed softly. Alan sounded pretty much the same, never really taking much seriously. "So basically, he's no longer Noodle Arms, but still almost always a little drunk?" Ellie asked, unable to keep the smile from her voice. She and Alan had never been particularly close, but he was always a lot of fun to be around. "Oh? Is he dating his partner then? I never thought he'd be the type to settle down like that."
