Traveler's Luck Powder

Intent: To keep one safe and free from mishaps on long trips. Ingredients:

Irish Moss (aka Carrageen)

Comfrey Root

Feverfew

Black Cohosh

White Oak Bark

Nutmeg

Materials:

Mortar & Pestle

Funnel

Mesh Strainer

Collection Dish

Container

IMPORTANT NOTE: Do not use the Black Cohosh if you are or think you might be pregnant. If need be, you can substitute Basil. Grind each ingredient separately for several minutes to produce fine powder. Sieve the material through the mesh strainer into the collection dish; this removes the larger ungrindable pieces and gives you cleaner powdered herb. (Pro-Tip: Putting a funnel under the strainer helps reduce lost material.) Retain the leftover large pieces that don’t make it through the strainer. You can use this for loose incense or charm bags later. Remember, witchlings: waste not, want not! (For the Nutmeg, supermarket spice works just fine.) Combine the component powders in the collection dish, mix well, and bottle immediately. Fold a few pinches in a paper packet containing your travel details. Tuck this into your luggage or the glove compartment of your car. For more travel general protection, you can sprinkle a few pinches in the footwells of your car, or just keep a few blank paper packets around if you frequently travel on short notice.

Needed: 

root of an oak

Step one: Find and dig up your oak root. This is easy to find on eroded hillsides, cliffsides, riverbanks, etc.

Step two: Carve this sigil into the root:

(“pertinax”: adj. Latin. “Persistent/unyielding”; in some translations, “stubborn”)

Step three: Bind in red and/or purple thread. Keep on your person, preferably as a necklace.

TheLivingWiccan's Defense Magic: To Control an Enemy

Needed:

paper

pen

gold thread

black ink

Step one: Take his name, and surround it as such (Remember you’re replacing NAME with the name of the enemy: follow the same pattern Ie: NATHAN, ATHANN, THANNA, HANNAT, ANNATH, NNATHA, NATHAN)

Step two: Take the paper and roll it into a tube. As you do this, speak these words:

Te capto,

ego sum patronus, te capto

ego te capto, (name).

(For extra strength, roll the tube with a piece of the enemy inside)

Step three: Take the gold thread and dye it with black ink until no gold shines through. Tie the tube shut with the thread. 

Step four: Wedge the paper into the crack of a rock wall, where he may never find it. 

(optional) Step five: To reverse, undo the thread and light the tube on fire. Do this while chanting 3 times:

"(name), ot pacet oge,

ot pacet, sunort apmus oge,

ot pacet.”

Any good spells or tricks for home protection , protection against harm, violence and abuse in a home? Overall peace & happiness in a home ?

Yes, but if there is a way you can get whoever is in danger out of that home, you need to do it. Violence is never okay in a home, and there are more than just magical solutions to this problem. Please do everything you can. Here are some spells none the less:

If it’s one person causing it you can try the honey jar spell with a blue candle, crossed their name with all the names of those who live in the home, and speak “…be kind and gentle to all of us…”

Basil hung up in the home or kept in a bowl in the kitchen/on the fireplace will add to the protection and peace of the home.

You can make tea from Motherwort and add it to the rinse cycle while doing the family’s laundry.

"For a Peaceful Home: Pick fresh borage flowers, steep them in hot waterto make a tea, and either sprinkle the tea around the house, or add it toPeaceful Home floor wash or Peace Water and scrub the floors with it…

To Clear Up Trouble in the Home: After there has been a fight, some people burn dried pennyroyal leaves as a clearing incense in the home or keep a bowl of the herb on the home altar next to a bottle of Florida Water. Pennyroyal is an ingredient in Peaceful Home Oil…

Peace in the Home: Bore a hole in a red onion, fill it with sugar, tie ashoelace around it, and hide it above the door where folks will walk under it…

To Keep Peace and Quiet in the Home: Mix Southernwood with Peaceful Home Incense or Peaceful Home Herb Mix and dress with Blessing Oil: bum daily on charcoal to bring tranquility to family relationships.”

TheLivingWiccan's Divination Spell for Success in Business

This spell is one part divination, and one part witchcraft. Use either or both as you see fit. 

Needed:

4 plant seeds (any seeds will do, so long as they’re large enough to write on. Sunflower or pumpkin seeds are good)

fine tip marker or pen (nontoxic, preferably)

pot

soil

labels to stick in the soil

Step one: Write on 4 seeds the following words, one word on each seed. Think on the meaning on each word as you write it.

PERTINAX (Latin, n: “persistence;stubbornness”) 

LEPOS (Latin, n: “charm; glamour”)

CONSILIUM (Latin, n: “planning; plans; counsel”)

INGENIUM (Latin, n: “ingenuity; wit; genius”)

Step two: Plant all 4 seeds in a pot during the first night after the new moon. Make sure you label them above the soil so that you know which seeds are where. 

Step three: Watch the seeds carefully. Whichever seed sprouts first will tell you which quality you need to utilize in order to achieve success in business. Ie., if CONSILIM sprouts up first, it may be telling you to be more organized, planned, and careful in your arts of business. If INGENIUM sprouts up first, maybe you need to think of some new ideas and new directions for growth in your business. 

Step four: Transplant this seed to a new pot, or clear the pot of all the other seeds (they don’t matter now, you can do with them as you like). 

Step five: Let it grow. On the night of the next full moon, surround the seed by placing 8 stones on top of the soil which spell the word MERCATOR (Latin, n: “businessperson; merchant”)

Step six: Tend to the plan until your success comes to you, always remembering to employ whichever quality the seed embodies.

Simple Protective Cleansing Bath

A simple cleansing bath to recharge and cleanse any protective shields, i decided to use herbs that are relatively easy to gain access to for this one, they are all things that can be found in your average spice cabinet. 

      Materials Needed

1 Cup Sea Salt (protection, cleansing)

1/4th Cup Basil (protection)

1/4th Cup Rosemary (protection, cleansing)

1/4th Cup Bay Leaves (protection, cleansing)

1/4th Cup Thyme (Cleansing)

Once you assemble all Your ingredients, Mix them together . While Feeling their energizes, pouring your power into them and visualizing your magickal goal blend the herbs with your fingers. once mixed Either set them aside in a bowl or Pour into a Sachet      ( adding them to a sachet makes clean up faster)

Next run a hot bath, and add the herbal mixture and let seep for a few minutes before entering.

Now enter the bath and just soak focus on your goal and intent for this bath. Stay in the water until you feel ready or the bath water becomes cold.

For Restful Sleep

I’ve been getting a lot of questions about how to ward off insomnia or induce sleep. Hopefully these can help. :)

Sleep Oil 

1/2 ounce carrier oil (sweet almond oil, apricot kernel, or olive work well)

3 drops lavender 

12 drops bergamot 

3 drops cypress 

To increase the benefits of your sleep, apply a few drops behind your ears, spreading the excess out over your jawline (you don’t need much, just a little dab will work). Do this immediately before bed. Please do a spot test on the back of your hand to make sure you’re not allergic. 

Pouch For A Restful Night 

Add these items to a pouch: 

Dried hibiscus 

Valerian

Chamomile flower 

lavender 

one small amethyst

Mix all of the above together in a small pouch and charge the pouch. Feel free to add a couple of drops of oil such as lavender, rose geranium, lemon balm or any other oil pertaining to sleep. 

Sleep Jar 

Blue or brown glass jar 

1/8 cup dried lavender

1 tablespoon dried rosemary

1/2-3/4 tablespoon ground orris root

After everything is well covered by the orris root, store with a tight fitting lid and keep it near your bedside. When you are having trouble sleeping, take out the jar, uncap it and inhale deeply its sweet aroma. Then set it aside, leaving it open on your bedside table, turn off the lights and sleep. 

You can add a piece of moonstone, amethyst, blue lace agate, or blue tourmaline to the mix to make it more effective. 

More Things You Can Do:

Drink Chamomile Tea before bed. 

Can drink Valerian root tea or chew on a Valerian root 

Try to stay on a regular sleep schedule 

Try stress relieving activities such as meditation before bed and during free time

Travel Protection Bottle Charm In your working space, place a vessel of water, a small container candle, a small besom or feather, and a flat, grounded stone (I used petrified wood). Have a small white taper in reserve nearby. Light the container candle. Fill small bottle with Traveller’s Luck Powder. Chant while filling: Water, fire, sky, and ground May they keep you safe and sound Cork the bottle and light the reserved candle. Continue chanting while dripping wax from the white taper candle over the cork until the bottle is sealed. Chip away excess wax until there’s just the clean cap. Brush the bottle with the feather or besom. Recite: With this broom (or feather), I sweep misfortune away…. Gather the wax scrapings and drop them into the container candle, saying: …And cast it into the fire. Take a fingertip of water from the vessel and rub the bottle clean. Recite: With this water, I wash away away all danger. Place the bottle on the stone. Recite: With this stone, I bring you safely home once more. Leave the bottle on the stone while you make a knotted string basket for it to sit in (or have one ready). Tie the bottle in securely, leaving a tail for hanging. Anoint with scented oil if desired and present to the person you wish to protect.

Use 2 tbsp of dried peppermint leaves to one cup of boiling water. As the tea steeps, chant:

Try adding a few drops of sweet orange oil to an unscented tea light. Burn the candle in whatever room you are in and relax for a few moments. Repeat this chant:

Materials:

Thyme

Steps:

1. Pour the Thyme into the herb dish and say:

Big Cat's Courage Charm

All of us face those people and situations that make us super nervous and in need of courage. This charm is to imbue courage into an object that can be carried with you into situations you’d like help during.

What you need:

An item that you wish you turn into your courage charm. This can be a piece of jewelry, a crystal or rock you plan to carry with you or a slip of paper with a sigil or picture that represents courage to you.

Incense or a candle. Once again, choose something that represents courage and strength to you. (I chose a red candle)

Step One: Light the incense/candle and hold your charm in your hand which seems to hold the most power (this is often your writing hand). 

Step Two: Imagine facing the situation you need help with. Now imagine a huge feline standing next to you (tiger, leopard, lion- any big cat) and helping to guide and protect you.

Step Three: Slowly pass the charm through the smoke of the incense/candle while saying:

I stand in the shadow of lion I am a tiger, fearless in my power I am a leopard, cunning and bold I have courage that no one can take from me I am confident and secure in myself.

Step Four: Wear/carry the charm with you when facing your troubles and remember to smile and stay calm. Those with malicious attitudes hate seeing people smile unaffected by their malice, and little will they know that you are baring your teeth- like a big cat- in means of protection!

Burn Away Habits

Use the power of fire to burn away bad habits, obsessions or addictions. You can also use this spell to break a connection with someone, like an ex you can’t let go of. Supplies for this spell are:

a heat-proof dish

something to represent your habit/obsession

charcoal tablet

chunks of frankincense resin

It works best if you choose an object to represent your bad habit that is small and flammable. Written notes, receipts, photographs and things like that work best. If you can do this spell on the night of the new moon, it will have more power.

Sit with your supplies at your altar, and concentrate on the item representing the thing you want to get rid of. Visualize all the negative things about this obsession and how badly you want to free yourself from it. Light in on fire, and let it burn out in the dish. On top of the ashes, set your charcoal tablet (the kind meant for incense, not the BBQ). Light the charcoal, and set several chunks of resin incense on it once lit. It may be a bit smoky, so open a nearby window if necessary. Let it burn out on its own.
