Taylor, we could feel your emotion that you poured into that. SYGB must have been incredibly difficult for you to perform. It was truly beautiful.

MY LIFE
This is the most important song from the movie and the one that resonates so clearly with me.
If you struggle with any form of mental illness this is the song for you.
(also perfect when you struggle with your ships being murdered left and right)
You know, everybody is talking about how "Into the Unknown" and "Show Yourself" are really good songs, which is fair. They really are good songs! But I think we seriously need to take a closer look at "The Next Right Thing." As amazing as ITU and SY are, TNRT has such a goddamn powerful message. It depicts depression and grief almost perfectly, and shows how you can't just be taking big leaps. Just taking baby steps is a start. Not to mention, just the raw EMOTION in the singer's voice.. how she strains to hit those high notes. Her voice cracks and wavering. The sniffles in between lines. This was actually her genuinely crying while singing this, mind you. She's not singing it perfectly like nothing extreme just happened. And the inspirational thing is that despite how much suffering Anna went through, she still got up and moved forward despite her grief. She just lost her sister due to her going too deep. Her best friend literally withered away in her arms, for fucks sake. And she still has the courage and mental capacity to move forward, despite being half-drowned in grief. She may not have awesome magical ice powers like her sister, but her mental strength is truly a huge inspiration.
I feel like Anna is a character I want to discuss in more detail in the future, but the moral of this post is that "The Next Right Thing" is an absolute masterpiece. It is way too underrated for how insanely powerful the message is. You can like the other F2 songs more, but don't just ignore the message this one has to give. It is truly a valuable life lesson, believe it or not. It is one of if not the most inspirational and well-portrayed song to come out of a Disney movie.
