She should have known it was the alcohol talking - he was going to propose to her not a long while ago and those sort of feelings didn't just vanish but May was not a good month for her and she'd let it get on top of her.
A weak protest was made when her wine was taken but it died on her lips when he brought her int his arms and kissed her. No longer lost to the wine she was lost in him and readily returned the kiss that had silenced her.
