Manos Hadjidakis describes the "Street of Dreams" as an everyday, insignificant and sad street in Athens that we all inhabit, covered by a tender but unbearable sky, where people sing at night.
"Hello
I came to show you the street of dreams myself
It doesn't stand out
It's a street like all the other streets of Athens
It is, let's say, the street where we live on
small, insignificant, sad, tyrannical
but also infinitely kind
It is full of dust, many children
many mothers but also a lot of silence
and all covered
by a tender but also unbearable sky
Here on this street
the dreams of so many children are born and die
until the moment when their breath
will unite with the spring the spring breeze of the Epitaph
and will be lost
But at night they can't sleep
And when they don't dream, they sing."

Fascism is not a political ideology, but our underdeveloped, dark and violent self that comes to the surface when we lose our humanity and education, according to Manos Hadjidakis.
Hadjidakis's Thought
Fascism does not come from intelligent thinking or political theory.
It hides within each of us and waits for an opportunity.
It appears when education, love and respect are lacking.
It feeds on fear and hatred for the other.
