Why is it that with age the ability to remain invincible dwindles? For inescapable reasons we seem to condemn ourselves to complacency. Whether it be due to occupation, professions, or just life, we seem to eventually justify our inaction. However, it isn’t until complacency doesn't reign supreme at the end of ones existent that it becomes noticed. Instead when someone gives up their last breath with hope, ambition, and pure meaning do people begin to become disgusted with the cruelty of life and their foreseen future. Some people however live with a lasting impact that engrains itself, ever so slightly, into the habitual patterns that are so continuing, we forget they are there. It’s not until that person is gone do we notice the discomfort and loss. Their overwhelming significance becomes ever so present to the mind; their beautiful perspective that made you reflect on your day differently and be thankful for the minuscule moments that you often overlook. Those people deserve all our thanks and are often never forgotten. We should always thank those people. Thank you for reminding me that complacency doesn't win; thank you for providing me with a friendship that will remind to strive rather than just endure.
