It’s the 21st night of September!
nobody even likes kpop outside of kpop stans, kpop stans ruin every groups image by doing That in the first place so jot that down.
like what u want and all that, u do u but but i’m gonna chill about kpop a bit bc i have problems with fans and the industry itself
petty fanwars over groups and idols who are friends in the first place
sexualisation of minors and over sexualisation of real people
^^with that one i don’t just mean stans, i mean underage idols (especially girls) are sexualised by their companies
idols are put into uncomfortable positions for Fanservice
fans defending their faves when they’re problematic
fans desperate for western validation but complain when their groups use harmless western influences in their music/wish to collab with a western artist (sometimes they even harass the western artist). sometimes idols could have harmless interactions with western artists and kpop stans will turn it into a nightmare
idols are expected to speak english and are teased if they don’t speak it very well
people who don’t speak korean use korean phrases for the “aesthetic” or as a joke and this is racist
whitewashing skin
when groups are given amazing opportunities that could give them more recognition, fans try to “protect” them
fans complain about concepts their artists use, especially girl groups
hetties who fetishise gay relationships
idols are stalked, injured and harassed by fans and although this isn’t common who would want to be associated with this lol
(most) industries think money > idol’s health
his legs r too long
JINHO - MAGAZINE HO #07 ‘I Think Of You / Jeremih’
Hi, everyone. ʕ ᵔᴥᵔ ʔ
I, @adachiyanan, am here with a giveaway. I bought myself the Ceremony album and got the group CD with a Wooseok photocard. It was really hard to find someone who had a Yuto or Yanan photocard, or even people who were trading photo cards in general. After a few days, I found one person with a Yuto photocard, but I had to buy the album from her in order to get the card because she wasn’t trading (luckily she had the group CD too). So in the end, I was left with the Wooseok photocard + album. ✾꒡ .̮ ꒡✾ Since I don’t need two albums and probably won’t have any luck selling it, I wanted to do a giveaway for it.
The winner gets:
Pentagon’s 3rd mini album - Ceremony
Wooseok’s photocard

Hi Tumblr—
We’ve heard from a bunch of you that Safe Mode was filtering posts from the LGBTQ+ community even though they were completely innocuous and totally safe-for-work. Please know that was never our intention, and we appreciate you letting us know so quickly—and forcefully! We’re deeply sorry. Tumblr will always be a place where everyone is welcome and protected, so we want to explain what happened.
The major issue was some Tumblrs had marked themselves as Adult/NSFW (now Explicit) as a courtesy to their fellow users, and their perfectly safe posts were getting marked sensitive unintentionally. That should never have happened. We’re sorry.
We’re making some changes that should improve things:
Changes to self-marked blogs
What was happening: Because we consider Explicit blogs to be predominantly sensitive content, we were automatically marking all their posts as sensitive. That was too broad.
What we fixed: Now each post is classified individually. As they should be.
Changes to reblog chains
What was happening: If an Explicit Tumblr reblogged a safe post, we were marking that reblog as sensitive. This was even happening to text posts. Which is silly.
What we fixed: We changed the logic so that if the OP is safe, all its reblogs will also be safe.
Changes to photosets
What’s (still) happening: When you make a photo post, a computer algorithm classifies the image as safe or sensitive. It’s a machine so it’s not perfect. And the chances go up with photosets because there are multiple images. But out of an abundance of caution we keep posts marked sensitive until the OP requests a human review (by tapping the appeal button on their posts).
What we’re working on: We plan to have photosets analyzed as a whole group, rather than as individual images. That should reduce the number of mistakes the machine makes.
Safe Mode is supposed to make sure people aren’t surprised by things may not want to see—specifically, nudity. It might take some time to get it perfect, but we’re committed to getting there with your help. Our algorithms will keep getting smarter as you give feedback on misclassified posts, and as you share your concerns and suggestions.
❤️
alright, here are some more suggestions:
systematically deactivate blogs that promote nazism, fascism and white supremacy.
systematically deactivate automated accounts that forcefully expose people – including underage users – to explicit pornography.
do not rely too heavily on computers and algorithms to make complex decisions.
allow users to decide for themselves whether they want content filtered or not through a blacklist system. a lot of blacklist extensions have been created and maintained over the years by third-party programmers and developers – whose efforts, covertly or otherwise, have been opposed by tumblr in multiple ways, including the implementation of pointless updates and unannounced major changes to the site that would render the extensions useless. this brogramming practice must end now.
change the blocking system to prevent posts created by a blocked person from showing on the blockee’s dashboard.
beta test updates. the bigger impact they have, the more critical it is to test them before they go live.

The Butterfly Project ━ val-notif
❝Hi everyone, so if you’re a kpop stan you probably know very well about the problems with mental health awareness in the industry. Every day kpop idols struggle with mental illnesses, eating disorders, and addictions and many keep it to themselves until it gets too much for them and they either leave the industry or have to go on hiatuses to get help. For some idols this works but sadly many go unnoticed and many don’t even know about the mental disorders they have. Being a hardcore Yongguk/b.a.p stan I ought to have started this project months ago but it’s only know with what happened with Kim Hansol of Topp Dogg I feel like it needs to be started as soon as possible. Basically what this project is is showing support for idols with mental illnesses by putting the butterfly emoji ( 🦋 ) on your profile, be it here on quotev or any other social media website. The butterfly being inspired by Kim Hansol’s love for butterflies. As international fans it’s difficult to communicate with idol and show our concern for their mental health because of the language barrier (unless of course you speak Korean then that’s null), but with this it’s just a symbol to show idols we truly care about their mental health. If you like you can spread this all around q, other social media platforms, wherever, whenever. If you have questions I’ll answer them as best I can. To make sure I clarify, this is a project to raise awareness, it was inspired by Hansol but it is for every idol suffering with mental illnesses, eating disorders, addictions, etc. There are many idols struggling with these issues that we know of, and even more that we don’t know about. **You can copy and paste the emoji here > 🦋 < ***this project is not only for kpop idols but khiphop idols, krock idols, Korean actors, etc ****You can also put this or this on your profile somewhere or post them (made by kiro ) !! If you absolutely cannot see the butterfly emoji on your device you can use a green heart with a ribbon (💚🎀) which represents the green ribbon for mental health awareness !! Thank you for reading and/or participating in the butterfly project.❞
