I have already attended one funeral... Not the funeral of someone who died, but of someone who once lived inside me... She had dreams. So many of them. She believed in people. She expected love to be gentle, life to be fair, and the future to hold something beautiful for her. She wanted things. She waited. She hoped. She imagined. And then, little by little, she died...

No one came to mourn her. There was no coffin, no prayers, no last goodbye. Just a slow disappearance of the woman who once believed that life could still give her what she had dreamed of...

I have buried her quietly.

But there is another funeral I haven't attended yet...

Mine.

Because I am still here... Still breathing. Still laughing sometimes. Still wanting. Still capable of being surprised by a morning, a song, a flower, a touch, a moment of kindness. And maybe that is the most beautiful truth of all...

The woman who once dreamed of a different life may have died, but the woman who is still alive has been given something far more precious... the chance to live this life while it is still hers...

So I don't want to spend the time I have left mourning who I used to be... I want to be here... Fully... Until the day my own funeral comes, not before...
