Want your troll to work at Lusi Shelter: Second Chance?

An employee on Second Chance works regular (part-time) shifts every week for payment. They are the trolls to run the place and make sure everything works, as well as a safety for the lusi.

A volunteer on Second Chance on the other hand works for free. They don’t have any regular shifts, they come and go a lot depending on time and interest. It’s not unusual for a volunteer to work a one week shift and never return, but it is also quite normal for a volunteer to simply work a couple of hours now and then, every week.

A volunteer can at times, but rarely, be employed. If your troll is a regular volunteer they might be added on the staff-list eventually.

This is what you need to do!

To become a volunteer you must first complete a roleplay with Rafiqa OR a regular volunteer/employee. Contact me here first. Once you got my OK you can plot the rp where your troll is introduced and shown around the shelter with with one of the muns who has trolls here already. At the end, they will sign a contract considering the responsibility it means to work there. That lusi can be dangerous, after all, and the shelter cannot afford being sued because someone got bitten. Thus they need to know volunteers know what they are in for.

The shelter is always open for volunteers, but it’s rare for them to be employed. If it happens, it will be through Rafiqa, most likely after a lot of interaction.

Note: If your troll is a volunteer you don’t have to roleplay with me to have them be at the shelter. You can post a starter where you’re troll is hanging at the shelter without asking.

Submit a lusus to the shelter!

It can be hard to come up with/designing and drawing refs for all the lusi on the shelter, so if anyone wanna contribute that’s awesome!

Just submit a picture of the lusus with this information attached:

Species: (What are they/what are they a mix of/etc?) Sex: (Biological sex: male, female, hermaphrodite, etc) Blood: (What blood caste do they belong to?) About: (What are they like? How’s their temperament and what do they like? How did their old charge die (if they know the case) and how did they find them? Did someone leave the lusi at the shelter, or were they given a tip about where they were so the volunteers could pick them up?)

It is ok to leave one or more empty, if you do I will fill it in with whatever I come up with!

OBS!! If you submit a lusus you got no control over what happens to it or who it ends up adopting and so on. Unless we’ve talked about it beforehand and you submit it for your troll to adopt in some sort of plot.

Species: Fluffbeast..? (Unknown, got rodent-like teeth... Resembles a guinea pig/hamster a bit except... Round. Like nearly ball-round. Size of a huge house cat)

Sex: Male

Blood: Olive

About: This fluffball was found in an abandoned hive after their charge’s death... He seemed to have kept himself fed on furniture, all potted plants and whatever was in the fridge.

Eats everything. Including furniture. Has swallowed keys before: keep an eye on him. His teeth are extremely sharp: don’t put fingers near his mouth. A volunteer already lost a finger that way.

Enjoys being groomed and snuggled and craves a lot of attention. And food.

Species: Twoheaded Roarbeast (leopard)

Sex: Female

Blood: Cerulean

About: After her charge were killed, friends of the charge contacted the shelter to have us find and capture her.

Can be aggressive, and is kept in cage since she’s tried to attack other lusi. Only experienced may handle her, and she require exercise every day. 

To the few she likes, she sometimes act a bit like a huge house cat when scratched and petted. The rest might be bitten trying - be careful.

Species: Screechbeast

Sex: Male

Blood: Yellow/Ochre

About: He’s very affectionate, but has a tendency to slobber. It is unknown how his charge died.

Species: Featherbeast Monster? Looks like an owl, somewhat.

Sex: Female

Blood: Teal

About: She responds only to “Hootie”. Her charge died in an accident involving very tall cliffs with rocks at the bottom; she was brought here by a friend.

Species: Sharktiger 

Sex: Male

Blood: Purple (Indigo)

About: Was found going rouge at the beach, attacking troll and lusi and destroying various things in their surroundings after loosing their charge. Rafiqa was taken to his location by a seadweller living in the area and calmed him using her powers.

He's a bit tricky with his temper, he either hates someone, likes them, or simply ignores them completely. Quite a proud beast, needs a lot of exercise and eats a bunch; but he loves some nice scratching/petting when he's calm.

Species: Glowing Wrigglerbeast

Sex: Hermaphrodite

Blood: Yellow

About: A glowy, quiet little guy who were brought to us by an anonymous troll. What happened to their charge is unknown.

Species: Feather beast (Giant Owl, about the same size as an average troll when standing next to them)

Sex: Female

Blood: Indigo (Blue)

About: She’s a bit of a loner and tend to spend most time by herself, in the trees around the shelter area. Very wise lady, but also quite cold and is very picky with who she likes.

Her charge died in a flarp accident, was brought to us by one of her charge’s friends.

Species: Kiwi feather beast

Sex: Male

Blood: Olive

About: A very calm guy who prefers silence and keeping to himself, or with the company of just one other.

He was brought to the shelter when a troll found him caught in a bear trap, and this is also how he got the peg leg.

How he lost his charge is not known, but it's likely they were culled.

Species: Dragon (by the size of a cat)

Sex: Female

Blood: Teal

About: This small dragon can be a bit mischievous. She likes to steal and hoard food, toys and sometimes keys in different hideouts she's made around the shelter. She sneeze small fireballs too, but luckily she hasn't burned anyone yet.

Can be a bit hostile to new trolls, but loves a good bellyrub once you get past that.

Was found and taken care of in the middle of a small city, where she stole and hoarded food and other things from the different shops and resturants around.

Her own charge seem to have died due to illness or poisoning. It appears she kept trying to feed and care for her charge at least three weeks after their death, until we took care of her.

Species: Baah Beast (Valais blacknose sheep)

Sex: Male

Blood: Bronze

About: Very happy and curious, likes to playfully bump into the workers and the other lusi around which is not always appreciated, but he mean well.

How his charge died is unknown. Found with a broken leg in a hole but has since recovered.

Species: Tiny Moobeast

Sex: Female

Blood: Burgundy

About: This lovely Moobeast may only reach a troll to the waist, but even so, she got a lot of personality and a big heart.

Her charge was most likely culled by a fellow troll. She was found alone and scarred outside a hive that was burned to the ground.
