I haven't finished all the episodes of the new series yet but so far I'm head over heels for Jyoti. Indian women are so underrepresented in media and it's great she's tech savvy too. But as much as I love the new series for introducing her it's tempered by the fact that they also whitewashed Keesha, Tim, and Carlos by making their skin tones significantly lighter than they were in the original series. Tim's and Keesha's hair got lighter and their noses are slimmed down too.

yoooo I super feel all of this,,,, Im also a little bitter that it seems like some of Wanda's personality traits were taken and given to Jyoti,,, but she's super great and I don't like seeing people call her a Mary Sue or whatever. I think she's a great addition to the classI am very sad about Tim and Keeshas designs tho,,, it doesn't feel like very thoughtful representation if u make every poc character super light skinned. maybe things will improve if they get a second season but I feel skeptical
