Free Design Resources
Hey this is a bit different from my usual posts, but I thought I would do a quick mini-master-post of my favorite design resources for poor amateur designers like me.
Pixlr - A simplified and free online photo-editing program in the vein of Photoshop (but easier to learn than PS). There’s also Pixlr Express which is like an advanced Instagram editor, with filters and stuff like that. It can also do collages.
Creative Market - Every week they have 6 “Free Goods’ for download - fonts, textures, templates, anything you can imagine!
Free Stock Photos: There a lot of websites that have free hq photos with no copyright restrictions, for use on whatever you want, commercial or personal. My personal favorite is Unsplash, as well Life of Pix, Gratisography, and Splitshire. This post has even more options. Deviantart also has a lot of resources like textures and photos, but depending on the users, they have various usage restrictions. (Shoutout to sirius-sdz, my favorite for textures with no usage rules!)
Anyway, I hope these resources help anyone who is looking to get into design, but is intimidated by the big price tags or “personal use only” fine prints!
