The Marauders Headcanons

Here is a blog where I will post my headcanons from The Marauders Era. If you have a headcanon, then you can always send it to me through the ask box!

The Marauders had some problems getting the ghosts showing on the map but in the end Peter managed to find the correct spell.

It wasn’t unusual for the four boys to fall asleep, all of them in one bed. This happened especially often in the making of the Marauder’s map.

McGonagall was baffled by the Marauders’ ability to, without a fail, make their first prank earlier and earlier for every year that passed. She was late to welcoming the first years at the start of the Marauders’ sixth year due to her scolding the four boys for turning Snape’s robes pink on the train.

She thought that would be the end of it, but was seen walking down the path to the train station at the start of their seventh year, muttering under her breath.

“Muggle fireworks… BEFORE even entering the train…!”

The Marauders once put a cat flap on the door to the Transfiguration classroom. Even though McGonagall gave them detention, she couldn’t bring herself to dislike the idea.

The Marauders had an another best friend, a bubbly and sweet girl whom they all adored to no end. She wasn’t a Marauder, as they had lready established their group before coming as close to her as they ended up being, but much like Lily she was just as welcome to join them during prank times and other shenanigans. 

They all were very  protective of her in their own way; James would jokingly “save her from the evil Snivellus” as soon as he was nearby and always tried to make her laugh when she was down. Sirius had made it a running gag of him throwing her over his shoulder when they had to run from trouble. Whenever she was looking uncomfortable around people, Remus would always step in to bring the conversation to an end and then walk away together with her. Peter and the girl had their own body language to communicate when the rest of the lot was bickering and together they helped each other with homework in the library or common room.

Collectively, the Marauders always wanted to see their best friend happy and did whatever they could to cheer her up.

Buttercup baby, don’t break my heart...

The marauders totally sent McGonnagall cards every year on Valentines and asked her out to dinner, every year she declined and then they’d follow her around the school serenading her with “Build Me Up Buttercup” and “SOS” by ABBA. She secretly loved it, and kept all the cards. When James and Lily died, she visited their grave alone and scorched the letters S.O.S into their headstone, and when Sirius was arrested she listened to Build Me Up Buttercup on repeat for weeks.

Sirius was the best one to sing out of them all.

Sirius used to read a goodnight story for all the other marauders before they were going to sleep. Peter and Remus was very fond of it, but they didn’t say anything when he wanted to stop doing it. James on the other side, he begged Sirius to not stop telling them stories in their third year.

Sirius was well skilled in ballroom dancing, which he later taught the rest of the marauders how to do properly as they forced him to when they found out

When it was really hot Sirius tied his hair in a bun.

Peter had no trouble falling asleep, but on the other hand was he a very light sleeper and would wake up due to the tiniest disturbances.

What do u think would have happened if James had a nightmare whilst at hogwarts?

That would depend on the year, I believe?

If it happens early on, first two years or so, it would be something he didnt want to announce loudly enough to wake them all, perhaps just waking Sirius up since he is the one closest to him. He would talk it through and then the day after, he would make sure the rest of the boys knew all the details.

But later on he wouldn’t hesitate but to wake them up, because he know they will help him calm down, make sense of the situation, and if the dream was bad enough, stay up with him so he wouldn’t spend a sleepless night alone. They are all there for each other, and if that was anyone else out of the group, they would all do the same.

Sirius started smoking over the summer between fifth and sixth year. He stopped only a month after coming back to Hogwarts though when he found out it really triggered Remus asthma.
