Hi I'm in awe of your layouts! Trying to brainstorm a few for an intro. Would you make some Trench inspired banners with a mossy twist? Oh and would you share some tips on how you put them together? Like what's right and not adding too much to a graphic. Thank you for sharing! 💛

figured i would answer your questions here and schedule the banners in a separate post for later on (earlier than i usually would given that my normal upload time clashes with the stream tonight!)

my technique can often be a little all over the place depending on the request or the inspiration. for headers, i usually start with a 3000 x 1055 pixel canvas, however i keep the bulk of the visual central so that it's still visible in 16:9. (although i did the ones for you in 1500 x 500, just to try it out)

I use either picsart or canva, but i'm hoping to get to grips with photopea to open up some more options. they all have their pros and cons, so it often depends on the request which one i use, or if i use both.

i like to play around with transparent images and blending modes for backgrounds, as well as different textures like paper or lace or brick. i think playing into the colours and aesthetics of an album or photoshoot is always a good place to start, or matching colours for sets of profile pictures and headers.

usually if i'm just doing headers i keep them more detailed, but if i'm matching to a profile pic that has a little more going on then i keep the banners simpler.

a lot of it is just trial and error and ugly phases and coming back to it later with a fresher mind.
